Re: F1

I did my googling anyway... slightly disappointed that it is a slightly different Le Mans car... I had images of a solar powered ford fiesta winning Le Mans.

Re: General Election

I think it was the wrong thing to say... land banking is a real problem in London, not being able to house victims of a disaster is a problem... suggesting one could be used to fix the other is a stretch and a bit opportunistic.

I find the response to things like this baffling ...

Re: New proposals to football rules

Which thread to choose? I've advocated this in the past but I've gone the other way now. If they allow play to stop it seems likely that the broadcasters will start lobbying for an advert break mid game. Mostly though if worry that it would change the game... Re: Gardening

Agree with gibbon about gravel... I'd be tempted to consider decking depending on the circumstances... Obviously upkeep, but I was shocked how hard the groundwork was in laying half a dozen flags. We ended up having to dig out under a tree which was absolutely awful... But in general the soil about ...

Re: General Election

Hmm.. yeah, thought the EEC was still around more recently than that. I appear to be a few years older than I imagine I am :( I had a quick read (albeit of wikipedia) and it seems that the EU was around since Maastrict but as a combination of the EEC and other organistaions... it wasn't solely the ...
