Re: General Election

And there lies the problem with their "costed" figures. Have they taken into account the number of corporations that will move their operations overseas? No. Have they taken into account the number of businesses that will stop making profits, downsize, or go under following the hike? No. Their numb...

Re: General Election

I still think they always need to include "non of the above" on the ballot paper. I note that Labour are trying to bribe students into voting for them. Gotta love long term thinking. Interesting that despite the change in time that their removal of student fees will cover, the "costed budget" for i...

Re: General Election

Actually the IFS (independent) on the today program gave them a clean bill of health with that regard at least... they are putting up corporation tax a lot. Not heard the Today Program quote, but it's at odds with what they say elsewhere. https://election2017.ifs.org.uk/article/labour-s-proposed-in...

Re: Value of Rovers

Would have assumed that as they're all under the EFL it would be the same - but just as naive as you are. I'm sure there are plenty of benign and legitimate reasons why accountants would want to come to ewood park... but I'm sure BRFCS can supply some hysteria if we need it. As a guess - if there ha...

Re: General Election

A fairly radical interpretation... people who advocate wealth redistribution rarely think they will be the beneficiaries.... in the same way that most of the people worried about wealth taxation aren't the people who will be affected by it. The problem with the economic arguments is that there isn't...

I was just typing a 'maybe, if he was outright lied to upon taking the job...' kind of post and had a strong feeling that I wrote something similar when he left us. It seems that some managers need to accept the realities of modern football or get out of the game.

Re: General Election

It's unlikely to work - but its far from bollocks... 'nationalising everything' along with 'take us back to the 70s' and 'cosy up to the unions' is symptomatic of a right wing that is quickly running out of ideas. The arguments on railways are sound... there is no competition in the supposed market ...
