Re: FA Cup: Blackburn Rovers v Newcastle, Tue 15th Jan, KO 19:45

Because younger players lack consistency because they are still learning and developing. Those dire games therefore happen more often. They then have a disproportionate impact on the player and can harm them in the long term.

Re: Sack race

Against Birmingham, yes. They'd got into the playoffs and were resting their team. That's up to them. The league and other teams are not in a position to be making value judgements on who a manager should be playing in which match. Nice != screws their own team to help a different one.

Re: Sack race

It's pretty hard to judge. As we should know as well as any team, it's not an easy job working with a recently relegated team from the PL.

Re: Brexit....or in.

You can quibble over the figures, but we are a net contributor to the EU. As we should be. We're fecking rich. Charity does not start at home. I'll remember to mention that next time we're talking about a lack of funding for our police, schools, NHS, etc. But why are we putting it into other relati...

Re: Brexit....or in.

There are always other agendas driving people. I think the thing I object to is the assumption from most of my social circle that the people who voted to leave were uninformed and that's why they voted that way. It's not necessarily true. And yes, people will be more informed on what's possible now...

Re: Brexit....or in.

We have a fresh vote for our government on a regular basis  Democracy doesn't freeze a decision in aspic. Almost like shit changes over time. I see no issue with having a vote now we have some more clarity on what is realistic and what was nonsense. I don't see why anyone would object if demo...

Re: Sack race

I agree, I think Stoke were a bit silly when viewed from the outside. Southampton have just learnt from last year.

Southampton have sacked Hughes.
I'm not sure he ever turned up to manage them in the first place.

Re: Preston North End v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 24 Nov 2018, KO 15:00

Preston fans, bunch of ruffians. I wouldn't even go to Sainsbury's on a match day - and they have armed guards on the door there to protect their extra ripe brie supplies. They are like animals I tell you. Moor Park becomes a sea of flying bottles of piss with away fans strung up from the trees with...

The Potters are just to the south (unless they are away that weekend I suppose). Hmm.
