Re: The US sports thread

Good weekend for me, couldn't have gone much better! Demarco Murray is turning out to be an early season disappointment for me though but the Titans in general have been a disappointment for all the hype.

Onwards and upwards!

Do you mean Scott Wharton? The young centre back? He had a knock in training and is getting back to fitness.

Re: The US sports thread

I was quite pleased with my auto-draft apart from at QB. Devonta Freeman and both Antonio Brown and Odell Beckham Jr.

Entertaining trades for Andrew Luck (especially if anyone has a spare QB *cough* BlackBat *cough*)

Re: Cycling

So guys, its the big one today on the Angliru. Froome is looking good for a maiden Vuelta title and to be the first cyclist in the "clean" era to win two grand tours. Nibali is a minute and a half behind and a better descender, however with the weather being a factor do we think its enough to overtu...

Re: English lesson for a Texan...

Neither... its Rotch-dale :)

As to fear, no we shouldn't fear anyone. Don't really know anything about them.

Re: Liam Feeney

Gone again, this time on a season long loan to Cardiff. What the hell they see in him I don't know but at least that's another wage off the books.

I for one am pleased with this one. He was pretty turdishly bad for us in the games I've listened to and in the highlights.

Paul Downing

Centre back, on loan from MK Dons. Only 25. Came through the ranks at WBA before joining Walsall and then MK Dons. So experienced in this league.

Probably only going to be depth at centre back and will likely be behind Wharton (at least I hope he will be) once he gets fit again.

Re: Sam Hart

Bit out of left field this one, nobody predicted this. I've read that he played the season at Port Vale last year and was brilliant going forward, but could use a little more experience defensively, though he is good in the air. I'm sure he can get that here as we aren't going to be throwing him in ...

Re: Rekeem Harper

From what I've read about him today, he's only just (literally today) signed a two year pro deal at WBA and Tony Mowbray loves the guy. The deal was going to be done earlier in the preseason but he was given a run in their first team and made his premier league debut. Also from what I've seen, he's ...

Re: Carabao Cup Blackburn v Burnley, Wed 23 August 2017, 19:45

Maybe considering Burnley had just scored, rather than watching the opposition celebrate he was focused on his own side and perhaps trying to motivate them to push on.

Does anyone know if the Burnley players were goading the Blackburn fans or was it just some dickhead losing his marbles?

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Doncaster Rovers Sat 12 Aug 2017, 15:00

I'm not worrying too much as Bolton had a rough start to life in league 1 also last season before finishing second.

Quite obvious 3 at the back isn't going to work and that like most young players Raya is going to be prone to the odd crazy mistake like their third.

Disappointing for sure.
