You can't make this up....!

Anyone else notice this precious bit of footy news from the nether regions..? East Fife and Forfar drew 1-1 today but as it was a Cup they went to penalties, giving the priceless final score... Clear throat,... Best BBC announcer's voice.... "Forfar 5, East Fife 4", it had to be a set up, or is it A...

Re: Where are they now?

Sat sitting watching t'telly as a lot of skilfull but oversensitive babies chase a bag of wind in Russia, I can see Nzonzi and Diouff (sp?) but who else graced our beloved turf at Ewood in their rise to fame and fortune...? And Thursday will tell us just how good this version of the three Lions are....

Re: Blackburn Rovers, Season in Review- D3D4football.com

Great analysis Waco! If I could add one more thing it might be that someone, somewhere got the ear of the owners to leave well alone and let the manager do what he was hired and trusted to do. No more overseas consultants, no more agent's advice, just a well experienced manager doing what he thought...

Re: The Blackburn Rovers 'We Are Going Up' Celebration Thread

Wish I had a quid for everyone who thinks that Darwen is Darwin, in Australia not Lancs and named after that "evolution guy". Any other Darreners on here?

Used to go train-spotting in Leyland, on us bikes, I get out of breath just driving over those hills now!

Re: The Blackburn Rovers 'We Are Going Up' Celebration Thread

All, Big recognition to Stillgrowling who beats me for length of Rovers suffering, wow! I remember a few of that 1950's forward line but only vaguely, the next decade was my favourite. Thanks for your patience with us old farts! I wasn't suggesting we don't give the youngsters a chance, I am all for...

Re: The Blackburn Rovers 'We Are Going Up' Celebration Thread

All, Bloody 'ell, we did it!!! Sorry for the radio silence, I was away as usual, someday I will stop and smell the weeds.... I must admit, I was pretty depressed at the end of last season, back to the 1970s again but with worse pies. Another bloody manager off the "he failed at XXXX United/City/Town...

Re: Where are they now?

Sorry Growler, I missed this. I might have been at that game too, sat on that little bench inside the wall...! I agree with you on Le Seaux, more reliable than Keith Newton but respectfully suggest Mike England over Matt Woods and C Samba. M England was the first "modern" centre half. He showed Jack...

Re: Portsmouth v Blackburn Rovers, Tue 13/2 2018, KO 19:45

Last time i played football it was still jumpers for goal posts. You picked the best footballers first and then your best friend. The fat nerdy one who was really good at school but rubbish at all sporty stuff got picked last and ended up in the nets. That was in the juniors. In the teen years the ...

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Blackburn, Sat 3 Feb 2018, KO 15:00

Mr/Mrs/Ms Geddon Down, Methinks I touched a nerve. I did say "soundly beaten" and this is a Rovers board and we are Lancastrians, we're not supposed to validate others, otherwise we might as well move to the beautiful south and be nice to everyone. Right, ready: great win Plymouth, you were the bett...

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Blackburn, Sat 3 Feb 2018, KO 15:00

Eu Up, How times are reversed, Burnley hold runaway Prem leaders at home and Rovers are soundly beaten in Div 3 by a team from Devon? Is there still a league team in Devon? What's their mascot, a Zimmer frame? ;) When did Rovers last (ever?) lose to Plymouth? Ah well, 18 games in a row was good, tim...

Waco and all as as missed mi! Vanity usually wins and you knew eventually I'd join in again. I didn't know you cared as I hadn't posted anything remotely interesting since about 1450AD!! I think I was missing my cyber mates Star and OOJW and the relagation was a bit depressing. I am still stewing ov...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Doncaster Rovers Sat 12 Aug 2017, 15:00

Thanks Darth, good reflection back to H Kendall's magic, he just came out of the tunnel looking like a winner in his whole career. Brilliant player, he could see the game at 17 that some never did learn to see their whole lives, and that obviously reflected in his management too. But it is also inte...

That's reight Mr Blackbat, I mean mi tea, as we have at 5.30 on t'dot, cos we're hungry from having us dinner at 12. Now that Earl Grey, weren't he a Geordie, Magpie fan probably, maybe that's why his tea smells funny. :D
