Re: Are you satisfied with the results thus far?

By now Mowbray will know what he must do in January to give us that extra little push that will get us into the play offs. Fortunately we've had no serious injuries although Dack must be a worry- like Rhodes, the big lights are flashing at him and the lad must be tempted by a possible move into the ...

Re: Bolton v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 6 Oct 2018, KO 17:30

So there I was, just finishing dinner in my hotel in Bulgaria, wandered over to the bar/lounge as there was football on, probably some Bulgarian or German side but, wait a minute, is that Dack on the ball? And it was, watched the last hour of the match live, a real treat. Although Bolton dominated t...

Re: Carabao Cup: Bournemouth v Blackburn Rovers, Tue, 25 Sept 2018, KO 19:45

Nyambe is only 20, he should be able to play four times a week. I wonder just how far we have to get in this competition before the manager and fans take it seriously. When one thinks of the excitement and crowds created by our relatively recent home cup matches against Liverpool and United, I'd be ...

Re: Stoke v Blackburn Rover, Sat, 22 Sept 2018, KO 15:00

Listening to Radio Lancs on Saturday, my heart rate has only just returned to normal. Rovers NEVER do anything easy. When Lenihan gave away the penalty my wife rushed upstairs and demanded to know what I was shouting about.
All's well that ends well I suppose.

Re: Stoke v Blackburn Rover, Sat, 22 Sept 2018, KO 15:00

Have to say I'm a bit perplexed about the Brereton signing. At a reported 7million, and without a start in the league this year, he is one hell of an expensive reserve.

Re: Stoke v Blackburn Rover, Sat, 22 Sept 2018, KO 15:00

I've just watched the Rovers v Villa match that my wife recorded for me. I thought the team looked far more threatening after Reid and Brereton replaced Evans and Smallwood. Rothwell I would always play at some stage, but I fear Conway is past his best. If Charlie is fit I wouldn't be surprised to s...

I seem to remember him cutting in from the left wing and scoring a cracking goal.

Re: Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers, Sun 2 Sept 2018, KO 13:30

Looking at the youthfulness of Mowbray's new signings I can only think that his aim this season is consolidation. Next season, with more experience under their belts, and a better feel for the Championship the intent should be promotion. I think we'd all be happy with that scenario. Moreover with th...

Re: Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers, Sun 2 Sept 2018, KO 13:30

I understood that Dack and Armstrong were both fit enough to play against Lincoln but Mowbray elected not to play them. Danny will surely start as cf, possibly with Armstrong on the wing, Nuttall on the bench. I just don't envisage Mpwbray making all the signings that he has and continuing with Evan...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Lincoln City, Tue 28 Aug 2018, KO 19:45

Average age of our starting 11 against Lincoln was 24. Surprisingly the second youngest player is one of our biggest assets - Nyambe who is only 20, yet seems to have been around for some time.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Brentford, Sat, 25 August 2018, KO 15:00

Our last two home matches against Brentford and Reading attracted about 50 away supporters each. When the likes of Villa, North End, Middlesbrough,Bolton, Leeds etc visit Rovers, I'll expect to see crowds of at least 16000- 18000, plus of course as Rovers continue their charge towards the Premiershi...

Lenny Johnrose

Awful news about Lenny,Radio Lancs commentator and ex Rover, who has contracted motor neurone disease (same as Stephen Hawking). The prognosis for any suffering from this is very poor, and I'm sure we all wish him and his family all the strength in the world to deal with it.
