Re: Where are they now?

I seem to remember him cutting in from the left wing and scoring a cracking goal.

Re: Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers, Sun 2 Sept 2018, KO 13:30

Looking at the youthfulness of Mowbray's new signings I can only think that his aim this season is consolidation. Next season, with more experience under their belts, and a better feel for the Championship the intent should be promotion. I think we'd all be happy with that scenario. Moreover with th...

Re: Bristol City v Blackburn Rovers, Sun 2 Sept 2018, KO 13:30

I understood that Dack and Armstrong were both fit enough to play against Lincoln but Mowbray elected not to play them. Danny will surely start as cf, possibly with Armstrong on the wing, Nuttall on the bench. I just don't envisage Mpwbray making all the signings that he has and continuing with Evan...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Lincoln City, Tue 28 Aug 2018, KO 19:45

Average age of our starting 11 against Lincoln was 24. Surprisingly the second youngest player is one of our biggest assets - Nyambe who is only 20, yet seems to have been around for some time.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Brentford, Sat, 25 August 2018, KO 15:00

Our last two home matches against Brentford and Reading attracted about 50 away supporters each. When the likes of Villa, North End, Middlesbrough,Bolton, Leeds etc visit Rovers, I'll expect to see crowds of at least 16000- 18000, plus of course as Rovers continue their charge towards the Premiershi...

Lenny Johnrose

Awful news about Lenny,Radio Lancs commentator and ex Rover, who has contracted motor neurone disease (same as Stephen Hawking). The prognosis for any suffering from this is very poor, and I'm sure we all wish him and his family all the strength in the world to deal with it.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Nyambe is our most consistent defender bar none. He' needs cover, not competition.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Reading, Wed, 22 August 2018, KO 19:45

Smallwood, Lenihan and Bennett looked as though they hadn't slept for a week. They were dire, particularly Lenihan. A racehorse trainer once told me that it is a total impossibility for horses to show their best form every time they raced. So I'll put Lenihan's performance last night down to a blip ...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

This is sounding more and more like the Brexit negotiations. Frankly, with the squad we've got, and bearing in mind there is another window in December, I would be inclined to tell the clubs that are asking for £8 millions to stick it where the sun doesn't shine and carry on with the excellent squad...

I remember Jimmy McIlroy too, but a Burnley player from round about that time also sticks in my memory - Brian Pilkington.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Reading, Wed, 22 August 2018, KO 19:45

I hate this sort of match - Teams playing poorly always seem to find their form against Rovers. I hope Mpwbray has a word with the ref before the match -Dack is getting roughed up every game by the opposition. Millwall targeted him even when he didn't have the ball - the lad'd no softy but someone i...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Millwall, Sat 11 August 2018, KO 15:00

Can't disagree with any of that. Graham had a poor game by his standards, having beaten the Millwall defence into the area he shot and missed - had he lifted his head he would have seen Dack unmarked on the penalty spot, later,on a one on one with the goalkeeper (who had an excellent game) Danny sho...
