Re: Blackburn Rovers v Reading, Wed, 22 August 2018, KO 19:45

I hate this sort of match - Teams playing poorly always seem to find their form against Rovers. I hope Mpwbray has a word with the ref before the match -Dack is getting roughed up every game by the opposition. Millwall targeted him even when he didn't have the ball - the lad'd no softy but someone i...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Millwall, Sat 11 August 2018, KO 15:00

Can't disagree with any of that. Graham had a poor game by his standards, having beaten the Millwall defence into the area he shot and missed - had he lifted his head he would have seen Dack unmarked on the penalty spot, later,on a one on one with the goalkeeper (who had an excellent game) Danny sho...

Re: 2018/19 Season

Watched a prog about Shearer last night - when he got to Newcastle he asked for the no. 9 shirt. Les Ferdinand wasn't over pleased about it, but gave it up.

Re: 2018/19 Season

I would have thought there was some prestige/pride having a no. 1-11 shirt.

Re: 2018/19 Season

Yes I did, but didn't realise that was a full list of changes.Have to admit that I don't understand the squad number policy. Can the players change if they want ? I see Hart has been 'demoted' and was expecting Mulgrew to insist on the no. 5 shirt.

Re: 2018/19 Season

Just that no one seems to have posted a full list. I can way until Saturday and buy a programme, but was expecting Mulgrew to take 5 and Dack/ Lenihan to get 1-10 numbers

Re: 2018/19 Season

Have the squad numbers been announced? I know that Armstrong is 7, but that's all.

Re: Ipswich Town v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 4 August 2018, KO 15:00

Can anyone tell me the last time that Rovers won their opening match? It almost seems an inevitability that we won't win.

Newcastle have just signed a Japanese centre forward from Mainz - Muto. This may be the trigger for them to release Armstrong.

Yes, I'd take a draw now, particularly bearing in mind that it's years since we won our opening match.

Re: Ipswich Town v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 4 August 2018, KO 15:00

Our managers seem to have the same problem as England managers , just won't give the youngsters their head. Yes, they make mistakes, but speed and can fitness can cancel this out. We have so many promising kids, yet as you say, the likes of Evans and Whittingham, and before them, Guthrie and William...

Re: Ipswich Town v Blackburn Rovers, Sat 4 August 2018, KO 15:00

Good assessment. Have to say I think Travis will before long command a regular place - energy, strength and aggression, not unlike Savage. I agree entirely re Nyambe - he is beginning to look a class player.seems an inch taller and a stone heavier than last year. After Dack and Lenihan,Nyambe is prob...
