Re: Scottish Independence

I have two theories: One is that they want to drum up enough support for the idea of independence so that they can use it as a threat to get what they want within the UK, without doing enough to actually break free. The other is that they're just not very bright. :yeahright:

I tried to predict an Independece Day-style invasion bringing a premature end to the season, but it wouldn't let me... :(

Re: General Election

Rehabilitation, RTT, rehabilitation. You get chance to put things right in my world. Uh-huh. I'm not sure McGuinness was so much rehabilitated rather than just changed approach when the violence proved counter-productive. And that's still a good thing. My problem is with those who are white washing...

Re: General Election

There have been plenty pointing it out too, though. And, ultimately, his later actions, whilst perhaps not atoning for his earlier involvement, are still important in bringing about the peace process. Indeed, without terrorists stopping being terrorists it would be difficult to end it. But if credi...

Re: Rovers v Preston, Sat 18th March, 1:00pm

Just getting two wins and 4 draws from the remaining matches would do it IMO. We have a good unbeaten run going right now, longest of the season for sure, and as long as we remain unbeaten, we should arrive at safety. I don't know; taking the last ten games as a guide, we'd still be relying on a sl...

And she probably doesn't see what's wrong there... Not least that Watson is correct to call Momentum hard left, whereas it's absurd to decribe him as a right-winger. But I don't really expect anything else from them. Meanwhile, it's a bit sickening to see tributes to McGuiness for his part in ...

Re: Rovers v Preston, Sat 18th March, 1:00pm

After those results looks like it's 1 from 4 (Forest, Bristol, Burton and ourselves). Not sure what everyone's run in is like but our next 2 games are absolute stinkers which makes those 2 lost points even more gutting! I remain positive and some of our play today really was very good. The picture ...

Re: Fulham v Rovers, Tuesday 14th March 2017, 7.45pm

Why can't you bring on a different batsman to take the free hit? On stilts? With giant pointy finger gloves? Because the batsman doesn't have to hit the ball? Or something. Why doesn't the batsman who faced the no ball have to go back on strike if the batsmen crossed? Why do tennis players not have...

Re: Fulham v Rovers, Tuesday 14th March 2017, 7.45pm

Okay, okay... you don't see any similarity between a team choosing someone to take a kick at goal after a stoppage in play in one sport, and a team choosing someone to take a kick at goal after a stoppage in play in another sport... And 10 minutes later... Okay, okay... you don't see any dis simila...

Re: Fulham v Rovers, Tuesday 14th March 2017, 7.45pm

How are you not understanding this? A kicker usually comes on for fourth down or for a single point after touchdown conversion (where the team can choose to go for a two point conversion as well). No set piece at all, other than arguably you could say that every play is a set piece. There is no "de...

Re: Tony Mowbray

Not saying that happens again anytime soon, but its amazing what happens when the club finds ways to win/tie late, as opposed to conceding early, playing catchup, & losing late, time & again. Mowbray deserves some credit for that. You think it's all down to him in just three weeks? :yeahright: In t...

Re: Fulham v Rovers, Tuesday 14th March 2017, 7.45pm

 You've got tunnel vision on this... what happens in football and why has been covered. Theadore then gave an example of sport where the fouled player restarts the game. I gave a counter example of a sport on the other extreme where teams have players who are only used for specific set play si...
