Re: Suicide bomb in Manchester

I don't think "scumbags" is really enough. No cause can possibly justify randomly murdering children. Makes me want to believe in a hell so the fucker can rot there for eternity.

Re: General Election

Less tax can actually equal more money in the coffers. True, but you would be wary of saying it as a fact. Just like you'd be wary of saying increasing corporation tax means you'll be able to offer free higher education, health care, more police, renationalise energy, mail and railways and reduce t...

Re: General Election

Actually the IFS (independent) on the today program gave them a clean bill of health with that regard at least... they are putting up corporation tax a lot. Not heard the Today Program quote, but it's at odds with what they say elsewhere. https://election2017.ifs.org.uk/article/labour-s-proposed-in...

Re: General Election

I still think they always need to include "non of the above" on the ballot paper. I note that Labour are trying to bribe students into voting for them. Gotta love long term thinking. Interesting that despite the change in time that their removal of student fees will cover, the "costed budget" for i...

Re: Police [don't] invade Equadorian embassy [yet].

I bet he still stays hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy.... He's still facing a charge for running off in the first place. So of course he'll stay in hiding, making hollow complaints about injustice because he's not been charged when he knows full well that that's because he intentionally fled from t...

Re: Police [don't] invade Equadorian embassy [yet].

Charges dropped  You mean arrest warrant dropped because of the impasse created by him hiding away in the Ecuadorian embassy, making it impossible for the Swedish police to extradite and formally charge him. The allegation still stands against him and if he goes back to Sweden before 2020, the...

Re: General Election

So the minimum wage is a tax? Think not somehow... Oh for fucks sake, it's like having a 5 year old. Legislated redistribution of money from a corporation is a tax by definition. No wonder people think you two are dicks sometimes :D Not really. Not at all. Blackbat's right, tax is specifically a co...

Re: General Election

The problem with the economic arguments is that there isn't a simple 'pick the party with the robust economy' option... the last 7 years of painful austerity have brought a fraction of the benefit that it was supposed to... the debt is still spiralling out of control, the deficit hasn't come down a...

Could still have offered him a contract.
We can't afford the paper!

Seriously, though, why waste time and money drawing up a contract offer when you know the player won't sign?

Re: Relegation Stay or Go

The only one that surprises me is Lowe; thought they might keep him despite the universal hatred from the fanbase as he seemed to be respected internally at the club. . I don't think there was any chance of keeping him; despite our fans thinking every manager he's ever worked under has got it compl...

Re: General Election

Yeah sure. But if the poorer end of society has more money, then the richer end has less. There's only so much to go around. Unless you think we should print some more? :hyper: Eh? :? Populations and wages increase, yet the rich are still getting richer. But you think there's only so much money to ...
