Re: Cars

Indeed. He suggested it was our fault at the time because we'd had the audacity to stop when the car in front of us stopped for the traffic lights. :dunce:

Re: Cars

Young lad ran into the back of my car last week at some traffic lights (which were on red). Not being a heartless swine, I said I'd let him know about the quote since he offered to pay himself to keep his premium down, but fully expected him to change his mind when I got it. But no, he seems to thin...

And yet she looks like Abe Lincoln compared to most of May's new cabinet.

Diane Abbott's mystery illness is type 2 diabetes.

Which actually all makes sense now. When something goes wrong with your management of it, it can play havok with your cognitive abilities.
You need cognitive abilities in the first place... :yeahright:

And the EU continue their aggressive stance over exit talks. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2017/jun/11/eu-threatens-year-long-delay-in-brexit-talks-over-uks-negotiating-stance This is why "no deal", or in real terms the default trading agreements, is actually a viable solution. They want us ...

Re: General Election

It says how much Corbyn has lowered expectations that finishing with over 50 seats less than a wretched Tory campaign is considered a success.

Re: General Election

Part of me is hoping that we get this so-called "Coalition of Chaos" as it actually sounds like a group of super villains akin to Suicide Squad or the Legion of Doom  Even if you add Labour, Lib Dems, Green, SNP and Plaid Cymru together, they're not going to have more than the Tories. Unless y...

Re: General Election

May didn't get a mandate, and lost the Tory majority; Corbyn didn't make the sweeping gains he promised and is still so short he'd have to make a ridiculously convuluted coalition to form a government. Nicola Sturgeon has been firmly told that her plans for a second Scottish referendum aren't so po...

Re: General Election

And even if you thought it was a waste of time, you can't really argue that it wasn't a mistake not to go, given the polling gap has reduced dramatically after the debate and with a focus on your own lack of attendance. Big miscalculation. Polling data from when? The YouGov one showing the gap down...

Re: Trump .... you're on

Kahn's meaning was clear enough to me. He was telling people that just because they saw a squad of armed police, it didn't mean that a lunatic with a bomb strapped to themselves was right around the corner. Hence, don't be alarmed. I can't believe you've wasted so much space and time debating that....

Re: Trump .... you're on

Little bit of an overreaction. By that logic I take it you've stopped going to gigs then? No, but I am genuinely uncomfortable walking past policemen with guns, and more vigilant than usual in busy areas or places that are often targetted by terrorists. You don't have to lock yourself in an undergr...
