Re: Brexit....or in.

May wins the confidence vote fairly comfortably. The cynic in me would say the whole thing was a stooge, particularly following the refusal by Labour to call a no confidence vote. Can no longer be a Tory leadership challenge for twelve months, so the hard brexiteers have a choice, May's crappy plan ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

He didn’t force a no confidence vote because he’s content to let the Tory party rip itself apart (which is literally what it’s doing given this mornings news). He only gets one shot at a no confidence vote and as is stands the DUP would vote alongside the Tories against it and it would also unite a...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Point number two is hilarious, for example. It's completely incompatible with leaving the EU, and something the EU would never realistically agree to without affecting the other five points.

But of course you have to leave the land of the partizans to start paying attention to that.....

Re: Brexit....or in.

Well given the lack of vote on the proposed deal it's only a matter of time before a vote of no confidence. Which will be amusing cause Corbyn is anti europe....

Re: Brexit....or in.

Politics generally has become too partisan. This thread demonstrates it. Two party politics shows it; death threats from supposed liberals towards their own party members as a good example.

Democracy doesn't work.

Re: Brexit....or in.

There are always other agendas driving people. I think the thing I object to is the assumption from most of my social circle that the people who voted to leave were uninformed and that's why they voted that way. It's not necessarily true. And yes, people will be more informed on what's possible now,...

Brexit....or in.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-46451970 I'm amazed anyone is even surprised that the advice said this could lead to an indefinite link with the EU. Seems obvious to me that it would simply be a way to hold the UK hostage in the customs unions without having any say so. Anyway, I stand by the...

Re: Wigan v Blackburn Rovers, Wed 28th Nov 2018, KO 19:45

What where your thoughts on the game Blackbat? Didn't watch it. Two pretty bad results on the bounce, soubds like the players are a bit jaded at the moment by all accounts. Still, not the end of the world, and I think more an indication of how well we've done at the start of the season. Success beg...

Re: Calling all parents

You're totally focussed only on your experience. For my experience: I personally did not stay on the maternity ward the whole time for four days: I didn't need to. Ah. You mean you're focussed on your experience. No, I mean you are only focussed on your experience. As with many things, you don't se...

You're totally focussed only on your experience. For my experience: I personally did not stay on the maternity ward the whole time for four days: I didn't need to. Going downstairs to get coffee wasn't a problem and I was actively encouraged to do so by the midwives in order to take a break. Going a...

Re: Calling all parents

You're totally missing the point here and focussed only on your experience. You were in for a day. My other half was in for four days, Dan and his partner were in for 9 days. Should they be providing my meals for the duration? Which meals? For the whole ward? For each maternity unit in the country? ...
