Re: England Squad

They don't use VAR for fouls outside the area unless it's a red card offence, and they don't use it for corners or throw ins. Had Kane scored in the first half, it would have been used to rule out the offside flag that was incorrectly raised. But because the 'keeper saved it, the freekick was given...

Re: England Squad

Yeah I read that article, I don't think they really got to the bottom of how he's really wasteful though; most of the time his wastefulness doesn't result in a shot at all. Anyway, last night. Freekick was good, but was terrible positioning by their goalkeeper. Also, Modric should have had a yellow ...

Re: England Squad

Croatia win on penalties again. We can certainly beat them; reckon the Belgium and France semi spawns the winner.....

Re: England Squad

Boom. Couple of dangerous moments; Pickford pulling off some cracking saves. (And from the best move of the match too).

Croatia or Russia next. Problems facing either but you have to win tough games if you're going to win a world cup.

Re: England Squad

He hit it better than I expected, but was so obvious which way he was going. Still a good save though. Trippier's response to them missing was also excellent.

Overall a very good set of penalties, just hope we can replicate should we need to.

Re: England Squad

Well Colombia were dirty as and the ref did little about it. Could easily have sent off a few players. Overall we played well but lacked a bit of cutting edge up front. And when we broughtu Dier on just went backwards (lets not talk about the Walker lapse). As for the penalties, they were all well s...

Re: England Squad

Nice to see Sterling's first involvement was: get ball, run into nearest man. That was Sterling the whole game - must have lost the ball at least 10 times and contributed absolutely nothing  Is that cause Sterling is one of the most infuriating players to watch ever? *Sterling gets ball...

Re: Cycling

Easy way to sort that out, though, isn't there? ;) Regardless, it's still a departure from their published rule. An explanation as to why would be useful, along with reviewing the cases where this might have applied previously and setting a precedent for the future. Up til now, if you couldn't prove...

Re: Cycling

Yes he's been treated differently. They haven't applied the rules (which are quoted above) which they've applied with other riders regarding having to prove through a controlled test that the result was due to therapeutic use of the inhaler; Tiernan-Locke is an example who was unable to prove in a t...

Re: Cycling

Alternatively, the case highlighted a flaw in the rules which meant they could not be applied as expected and you want to have a go at Froome :D As the detail has been withheld (cos, reminder, this should be a confidential process) then I fully expect people to continue to moan about it forever and...

Re: Cycling

The big issie is that he's being treated differently than other riders. Rules aren't being followed and are changed to allow him to race. It feels like same old same old, at a time when the sport needs to somehow come across as squeaky clean. Team Sky also need to step up to the plate if they're goi...

Re: Cycling

Furthermore : The Guardian[/url] ]Wada rules – as quoted in the organisations statement on the Froome case – specify that if Salbutamol is found over a certain threshold it “is presumed not to be an intended therapeutic use of the substance and will be considered as an AAF unless the athlete proves,...
