Re: England Squad

The angle from the left shows the ball hit his chest and only move forwards from that point on; there's an optical illusion on the angle from the front where it appears to roll on his arm, but if you look from the left and the position of his right arm which is held behind his chest, it's impossibl...

Re: England Squad

This is pretty interesting, not quite sure how accurate it is and certainly have no idea how players are valued anymore. Rashford the 4th most expensive England player at the World Cup. Kane 3rd most valuable of any player? Aguero looks a little cheap compared to some of the other 'world class' 'su...

Re: England Squad

I thought the Hernandez one was the first review that actually was a handball - he had time to see the ball coming towards him and twisted his body so that the ball hit his arm. Didn't matter in the end but that's not the point. Offsides are easy to correct because there's a strict rule to follow, ...

Re: Where are they now?

Nzonzi is there too with France. I think that's what prompted Duggy to ask... Sat sitting watching t'telly as a lot of skilfull but oversensitive babies chase a bag of wind in Russia, I can see Nzonzi and Diouff (sp?) but who else graced our beloved turf at Ewood in their rise to fame and fortune.....

Re: Where are they now?

I think there's three other ex-Rovers at the World Cup, or at least were there at the start - Nikola Kalinic who's been sent home for refusing to play against Nigeria, Martin Olsson and Phil Jones.

Re: England Squad

VAR isn't the problem, it's still the referees making mistakes whether they're making them on their own or with the help of a replay. People seem to be blaming VAR as if it's some form of technology going wrong, and need to understand that it is only a TV replay, the same replays we've been watchin...

Re: England Squad

Looks like the Portugal v Iran farce has really stirred up some anti VAR sentiment.

Re: England Squad

We're going to win the World Cup cause Rooney isn't there!!!! :hyper:  Sterling seems to have taken on the role of being the one to hate on anyway. There was an obvious problem with balance to the side when successive managers tried to fit both Gerrard and Lampard into the line up, but...

Re: Calling all parents

Cheers. Mrs Top has already done it all twice before, although she claims it's too far back to remember. And I've already learned more biology than I did in school... :D

Re: England Squad

I doubt having those two in the squad would actually have a detrimental effect on what we've seen so far, the improvement is in the system and attitude rather than individual personnel. For once, expectations are realistic. Although the one downside to winning 6-1 is that some are getting carried aw...

Calling all parents

A mini RTT is due to arrive later this year, and I'm trying to make my way through the minefield of buying the bits and pieces needed for a baby. Considering how important a part of life it is, I'm shocked at how poor the range of products are, from maternity clothes to furniture. Mrs Top and myself...

Lucky Germans.
Another shocking failure to use VAR when the Swedish forward was clean through.

And what was up with England yesterday? We're supposed to sleepwalk to dreary 0-0s against teams like Panama. :D

Re: England Squad

And one that's right... Neymar comically throws himself to the ground, the ref falls for it but then changes his mind after watching the replay. Right decision in the end but I'm not sure why it's not a booking for the dive. And Neymar's now picked up a yellow card moments later for dissent...
