Re: Brexit....or in.

And you still seem to be failing to acknowledge that it's not just trade with the EU that's the problem, it's trade with any country that has a trade agreement with the EU. Nor that the mechanisms and infrastructure isn't in place to support a hard border with the EU. Your solution is that we can r...

4 wins out of 4 in January - Mowbray must be in with a great chance of manager of the month.

Re: Brexit....or in.

I think your echo chamber of one seems to be far bigger than mine..... Echo chamber of one, that's a good one. If only your economic arguments were anywhere near the same standard... Somehow I knew that despite being given actual figures that show you're talking rubbish, you'd still maintain ...

It's an easy one to decide - which one has a Lynx deodorant named after it?

Re: Brexit....or in.

You're now just being disingenuous. In the wider picture, tariffs are not 35%, what happens to the economy as a whole is not dictated by how just one market is managed. Maybe meat exports will fall, but over the whole economy the trend should be lower cost exports and hence a greater demand for them...

Re: Brexit....or in.

That's a surprise. An example that backs up your argument, but is completely irrelevant in the argument. There are plenty of products that we import because it's cheaper for consumers to but those products due to our trade agreementa, whilst we produce plenty ourselves and export because it's more ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

" if you're reliant on imports it's because your domestic market can't provide those products. " Totally not true. Well, that's just applying the definition of "reliant", but I'll give an example to clarify. Let's take one of my favourite things: wine. There is a small wine industry in the UK, but ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

You're wrong here. We export more of our agricultural produce than import. A fall in the pound only benefits exports, and hurts buying power on imports. Seems to me, not charging tariffs on imports will be countered by lower buying power due to the fall in the pound.... And buying power across the ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Lets continue to be super condescending without paying attention to what oneself has said.... Talking about yourself? I'll break your point down into two parts - from an export point of view, the increase in tariffs is likely to be cancelled out by the anticipated fall in the pound. I've made this ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

I'm quoting government research into the cost of food in the UK. Not, nore, the research pulled from RTTs arse. Read on and it makes the exact point I am. "The UK Government could decide to remove all tariffs on imports into the UK. This would lower the cost of imported goods, leading to reduced pr...

Re: Brexit....or in.

I note how you nicely dodged the comment about 70% of our trade coming through EU and EU negotiated trade deals.... Which is exactly why trade deals are important in the context of Brexit, and exactly why it's more likely that there'll be a recession post a no deal Brexit than not. I haven't dodged...

Re: Brexit....or in.

But you only debunk them with just a just as flawed dedinitive argument the other way. Inflation causes economic growth, for example. We will have better trade deals, for example. Etc. For the second time in a few posts, you appear to be arguing with something I haven't said? I've been putting forw...
