Re: How will Rovers finish 2018-2019 season?

Definition of knee-jerk reaction..... ;) Go to “the other” Rovers’ board; pretty much every post after a loss. I was suggesting that your response was a perfect example. As they usually are. Within the space of two or three posts your opinion can swing from utter despair, to pure hope, back to utte...

Re: Brexit....or in.

I think you'll find you started arguing. I said the election was inconclusive: you disagreed. The good thing about this site is you can look back at what was actually said. So... We need a general election. And two new parties (I suppose the TIGs would be one, Farage's new one could be the other). ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

You were talking about that. And the Government have done their best to do that? But, having a minority government and all, and having to go to bed with the DUP (also not in their manifesto), they weren't able to do so. So what's your point, exactly? And you certainly can argue that Labour didn't c...

Re: Brexit....or in.

You were talking about that. If you weren't, why start arguing? :-? EU negotiator, Michel Barnier says there's only 3 options for the UK: Accept May's deal, accept no deal, or request a long delay which will need strong justification. Are you going to tell him it's a load of bullshit too? :D I thin...

And despite Bercow allowing repeated votes on unchanged options when it suits him, none of the softer options win a majority....

Re: Brexit....or in.

It's not literally what has happened at all. You're so blinkered you think anything that isn't your opinion is odd. We can totally negotiate another deal. And it doesn't need to happen in entirety before last Friday. There's no timescale in the referendum, the only timescale was the one introduced b...

Re: Brexit....or in.

What a load of bullshit. There are other options available, you (and Theresa May) just don't like them; the EU has indicated that they would renegotiate should the UK pursue a customs union, for example. It's still leaving the EU, even though you wouldn't get any benefits to being able to negotiate ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Even the latter requires a huge about of planning, itinerary submission, coordination with ports on two sides of the channel, increase in staff (you can't legally sail the same crew several more times in the day) and logistics around making sure they're available, and logistics in fuel supply and se...

Re: Brexit....or in.

 Not as simple as that, Gibbon. Those aren't the only ships that run in the channel, nor to the ports that they will be docking in. There are tight turnaround schedules for docking berths that need to be adhered to and itineraries that need to be arranged and submitted. The cancellation fees f...

And if the schedules hadn't been agreed, set in stone, paid for and finalised and we had left yesterday, you'd all be crying for the opposite reason.

Re: Brexit....or in.

579 out of the 650 stood on a pledge to uphold the referendum result, the majority have reneged on that promise. Are they all necessarily going against their pledge? That's why I said "the majority" rather than "all". ;) If, instead of Brexit, they were reneging on a pledge to put more money into t...

Re: Brexit....or in.

I don't even agree it's a majority. If you look at the indicative votes from Wednesday , almost all MPs voted for some kind of version of leaving the EU. They're just all different ones and they can't agree on which.

Re: Brexit....or in.

Not the point I was making (I mean, obviously, why would I be saying that? - up until the last election, all the major parties were pro-EU, and clearly there was a sizeable portion of the electorate that disagreed with that) Whether you as a voter agree with every policy or not, the MP is elected w...
