Re: Blackburn Rovers v Norwich City, Sat, 22 Dec 2018, KO 15:00

I've worked out what's going on here, some posters are taking enjoyment using sarcasm, being pedantic and attempting to belittle those that don't follow their narrative of Mowbray being the best for a decade therefore he's untouchable, unless we are cut adrift in the relegation zone of course. They...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Norwich City, Sat, 22 Dec 2018, KO 15:00

Sorry Mr B - 'better of the two by a country mile'? I don't think so. Samba was better in both penalty areas than Nelsen, in fact he played several games as centre forward. I'm not knocking Nelsen - he was a great Rover, but as a ch I'd always prefer Samba. No way. Nelsen was a wayyyyyy better cent...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Like I've said before, democracy doesn't work... It's marginally better, and only really achieves guaranteed tactical voting. Not worth the cost of implementing. Genuine PR, with much larger voting areas with multiple representatives split by the proportion of votes would ensure that most everyone i...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Which is a form of STV, but yeah, you're correct. Thr base point still stands though: the vote was not to "stick" with FPP, but to retain FPP over an option to move to AV, which wouldn't have resolved any of the inherent issues of lacl of representation for those who voted against a winning candidat...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Norwich City, Sat, 22 Dec 2018, KO 15:00

After I posted what I did about Samba I thought about Mike England - both great attacking centre halves, both sold for a lot of money . I'd give the edge to Samba though - the way he terrorised defences when he ran into the penalty area when a corner was being taken. All six foot six and eighteen s...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Your logic is SO flawed its unbelievable. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proportional_representation "Proportional representation (PR) characterizes electoral systems in which divisions in an electorate are reflected proportionately in the elected body.[1] If n% of the electorate support a particul...

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Norwich City, Sat, 22 Dec 2018, KO 15:00

Ryan Nelsen is definitely up there amongst the great centre backs we've had. And it was an odd move to strip off his captaincy.

But it still doesn't counter the fact that BFS had wanted to quit previously.... Nor that he signed diving spitting Diouf....

Are we still going to debate Big Sam? Does everyone always forget that he wanted to quit and leave us?

Ah i love it when someone can't face up to their own demonstrable contradictions. :D

Boo fucking hoo, I posted on the internet, contradicted myself, and then ran off crying.

Re: Brexit....or in.

Well I think its a shocker personally; ultimately I don't believe it adds anything, except giving people their chance to declare their real intentions before turning their vote into a tactical vote. For me it doesn't address the actual issues of a government made up with imbalanced representation; t...

Re: Brexit....or in.

It is a different thing all together.

The referendum was: do you want STV? Yes/no.

I'd like: Do you want a form of PR? Yes/no.

Very different questions.

We did not vote to stick with FFP, we voted to take up STV.

Re: Blackburn Rovers v Norwich City, Sat, 22 Dec 2018, KO 15:00

Not sure I agree with all the comments regarding Big Sam. Rovers are never going to win the Premiership again if they play to the next millennium. The best we can hope for is to have a decent side that holds their own in the Prem, half way or better would be fine. Big Sam could do this -perhaps not...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Its a form, a sub par one, and in my opinion wouldn't actually deliver a true proportionally representative government.

And the vote was for that one form only. There was no option for "I'd like PR please but not this sack of shit implementation of it."
