Re: Mahoney.

Interesting comments...i agree that the championship can be a real maker or breaker of a young footballers career. Get it wrong and a young player could be moved on from his cushy number in the premiership and all of a sudden be lucky to make the first eleven in a league one/two team. Maybe its too ...

Congrats Gaz! Really pleased for you. Promotion is a wonderful thing. ;) Congratulations to Gaz and of course Mrs Gaz. I wish your son all the hapiness and luck in the world. The big question is will it be Bradley or Charlie on the birth certificate :D Anyway on to the last game of the season. Oxfo...

Re: Mahoney.

Just been catching up with how Connor Mahoney is getting on. Of course signed by Bournemouth but then loaned out to Barnsley who could end up in League One after this weekends fixtures. He hasnt really made much of an impression in Yorkshire. He is still only young and plenty of time to make his nam...

Re: The Blackburn Rovers 'We Are Going Up' Celebration Thread

All, Big recognition to Stillgrowling who beats me for length of Rovers suffering, wow! I remember a few of that 1950's forward line but only vaguely, the next decade was my favourite. Thanks for your patience with us old farts! I wasn't suggesting we don't give the youngsters a chance, I am all fo...

Re: Blackburn v Oxford, Sat 5 May 2018, KO 17:30

This will be a difficult afternoon. The worst Oxford have done in the boat race is finish second. I am not sure how Rovers will adapt to oars and a bit of water. 🚣

Re: The Blackburn Rovers 'We Are Going Up' Celebration Thread

Well you made it back and that's good. A team like Blackburn shouldn't be in the third league of English football and you made it back at the first attempt. Think there's still a chance of finishing first on the last weekend but you've secured promotion first and foremost. Look forward to being bac...

Re: Charlton v Blackburn, Sat 28 April 2018, KO 15:00

Oh well if Wigan lose at Donny and Rovers beat Oxford at home then we will finish first. What means more has been the performance today of some of the players we dont usually see starting a game. Apart from the lads starting out their careers Tony Mowbray would not have seen anything to make him wan...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

Although Mowbray signed a couple of gems in Dack and Smallwood his other signings have really under performed. If it was left to Whittingham, Gladwin, Hart and Samuel for example we would have been no where near promotion. The loan market made the difference to Rovers challenge for promotion. Big th...

Also, we haven’t really discussed it, but the chance Rovers win League One title?
It would be nice but after a dreadful start to the season and at one point being more than ten points behind Shrewsbury i think everyone is just delighted we are promoted.

A good cause and hopefully the Blackburn fans attending will be in a generous mood and also have something to celebrate.

Re: Doncaster v Blackburn, Battle of the Rovers 2 or 4: Electric Boogaloo, Tue, 24 April 2018, KO 18:45

So basically a win and we’re promoted, a draw and a Shrewsbury draw or loss and we’re promoted. Lose and Shrewsbury lose, we’re promoted. So could well be a promotion party tomorrow night! So glad I’m there for this one! Given the 20+ goal difference we have we could also lose and Shrewsbury draw a...

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

I'm inclined to think that much of Shrewsbury's success this year has been due to Abu Ogogo, their decline in form coincides with his absence through suspension (albeit for fighting) and a ligament injury. They're just not the same team without him. He's a product of Arsenal's academy and he's out o...

Re: Blackburn v Peterborough, Thur 19 April 2018, KO 18:45

Tony Mowbray said he is already planning for next season. I wonder if that will be with West Brom or Ipswich. If so then Rovers should go for Wenger.
