Re: Rovers vs Man City, 1st October 2011, 3pm

I believe there is such a fine line between success and failure in football management. We could have very easily beaten Wolves and Everton, we'd be mid table and all our other results would feel about right (aside from the manner of our defeat at Newcastle, the defeat itself shouldn't be a shock). ...

Re: QPR vs Rovers, Sat 15th October 15:00

How could you drop Olsson :o I wouldn't read too much into the Fulham match. It was a huge long awaited derby game for QPR, they shot themselves in the foot conceding after 90 seconds and simply fell to bits. The 5 games previous to that they have looked excellent. Deservedly won at Everton, thrashe...

Re: Rovers vs Man City, 1st October 2011, 3pm

Only seen the highlights as I was at a wedding on Saturday. I felt heartened to check the half time scores and see it at 0-0, then the floodgates opened :( Although I did expect us the get pumped by at least 5 goals, and losing to Man City is sure to be expected, heck we did better than Spurs manage...

Re: Steve Kean thread - Now with 'sack or back' poll.

Venky's clearly back Kean, I actually think the assistant will be somebody with an affiliation to the club than Venky's believe will appease fans... Appeasing the fans should be secondary to getting the best person to work with Kean since he is the manager. Oh I absolutely agree, but from my small ...

Re: Steve Kean thread - Now with 'sack or back' poll.

Not really sure what to make of it really. Can't say I enjoyed or even noticed Jensen's involvement at the club and he certainly won't be missed. Sounds more likely that Kean wants his good old mate and former player Billy McInlay to come to the club from Fulham :yeahright: Venky's clearly back Kean...

Re: Rovers vs Man City, 1st October 2011, 3pm

Difficult to pick a team yet without knowing who will be fit. If Salgado is fit Kean will play him. As amazing as City are, bizarrely I can see them causing us less problems in the usual weak spots at full back. Whoever their front 3 are on the day, they don't play that wide, they mainly look to get...

Didn't even know it was a Kevin Smith film

Mate came round with it on HDD, had never heard of it so just slapped it on, good film though.

Re: Newcastle vs. Rovers, Saturday 24th September, 15:00

Yeah I just don't know. It isn't even a case that too many players plough forward in attacks and we get left short at the back. We are conceding soft goals even with 2 holding midfielders and a back 4 in position  We essentially play a 4-2-3-1 formation. It is quite a narrow formation, althou...

Re: Newcastle vs. Rovers, Saturday 24th September, 15:00

Yeah OOJW, that is what pissed me off about Wednesday and Orient, I know he made changes to the side, but clean sheets are clean sheets and it is a good habit to get into. I like seeing us attack and score goals, but from the Pulis, Sam and McCleish school of Management, you can't lose if you don't ...

Re: Travelling

I've been to New York and done the San Fran - Vegas road trip 3 times. It is tres excellent. New Zealand South Island is one of the best places I've ever been. Done all of Oz, it is great but is now far too expensive. $10+ dollars for a pint... The most expensive item, that I enjoyed shockin...

Random film I watched last night...

Red State featuring John Goodman. 3 school kids get kidnapped by a Christian Cult. Strange film but well worth a watch.

Re: Newcastle vs. Rovers, Saturday 24th September, 15:00

"There has been a bad reaction to this result, even from the more optimistic bunch, like myself." Really? Why would this defeat be considered or taken any differently than all the rest? The pattern continues. It was somewhat predictable we would lose easily, irrespective of the run of five wins enj...
