Re: Brexit....or in.

That's always been the arrogance of the approach by many politicians. They simply don't want to accept that there are a whole lot of people who don't want to be in the EU, for all sorts of reason. That include things such as racism, xenophobia and so on, but also include things such as wanting to tr...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Surely question 5 and the first four aren't mutually exclusive?

Re: Brexit....or in.

But don't you see you employ the exact same tone? You start off preaching and then get uppity when someone makes a personal jibe in retaliation to one of your own . Grow a thicker skin and be less hypocritical for God's sake. ;) And whoopdidoo, you have a 20 year old economics a level. So you're sa...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Meanwhile, and somewhat unsurprisingly, the EU declines to reopen talks after the UK has shown it's hand last night that we don't want to leave without a deal. What a shock. Who knew our politicians were idiots? And the EU ones too. Neither side has shown a duty of care to their citizens. It could ...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Personal jibes? Where, exactly? Oh wait, no I did point out, again, that you approach every argument, ever, with the firm belief that it's impossible for you to ever be wrong, ever. Did I say ever enough? I'm not quite sure. The only misconception would be around any doubt over what the trade tarif...

Re: Brexit....or in.

And on the previous indicators with no disasters; you're struggling with the difference between an indicator based on speculation and an actual devaluation of currency and actual increase in product cost: which also was my argument right at the start which you dismissed. The reason why there was no...

Re: Brexit....or in.

We have import duty on wine, (aka tariff), imported from the EU. I can send you my bills from HMRC if you like? https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/uk-trade-tariff-excise-duties-reliefs-drawbacks-and-allowances/uk-trade-tariff-excise-duties-reliefs-drawbacks-and-allowances#introduction Why h...

Re: Brexit....or in.

I'm sorry? Have you actually read my post? It's not about objections to our WTO schedules, it's that they have already been set out as the same as the EU schedules..... so all those arguments you put forward about changing the tariffs to suit our needs aren't included in the schedules that we've alr...

Re: Brexit....or in.

Oh and lastly, in order to post a WTO schedule, there needs to be no objections from any other WTO member. This also takes three months minimum before they are approved in order to give all WTO members time to review them. So, on March 29th, given the UK has no schedules because we trade under the E...

Re: Brexit....or in.

There simply is no English wine produced at that cost. Yep, that was pretty much the gist of my point. Therefore we have to import, and at £3bn a year coming in, that's some hefty demand for wine even if we won't starve without it. You think people will stop drinking wine when we leave the EU? I wa...
