Hooray... Best team ever.. wait, what?
Careful, don't want to get accused of negativity... ;)
The unbeaten run was going to end some time. We've just got to bounce back straight away, make sure we're in position to capitalise when Shrewsbury and Wigan have their hiccups.

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Blackburn, Sat 3 Feb 2018, KO 15:00

Duggy Yes there are still some league teams in Devon and you found out yesterday, just how good one of them was. The trouble with you BIG clubs, is that you think you have the right to rock up, and take away the 3 points and drive back up the m5. Nearly all the posts on here are from Blackburn fans...

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

I'm counting 22 unbeaten, from October 10, to February 27. Here is the breakdown: It's good to check facts, even if it is the club's all-time record unbeaten run, but you've miscounted. It's 23 league games, from the 1-1 draw at Villa on the 30th September through to the 2-2 draw at Leeds on 27th F...

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

Have to say I'n disappointed with the negativity shown after an unbeaten run of 18 games, and climbing into the automatic promotion spot. Fact -you can't do any more than beat the teams you are playing against. If people don't believe our team has been transformed by the arrival of Dack, Armstyrong...

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

Our two best players were in the team that came down in Mulgrew and Graham. I think that says a lot. No, no, no. This is the best team we've had for 35 years if you only consider the last 7 which really means only the last 2 since we were forced to sell off Gestede, Rhodes, Cairney, etc because of ...

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

So just the last 7 years of teams we could beat eh. We've not been that team of the late 90s and early 00s for a long long time. Winning is fun, losing is not. I'm pleased for you that you enjoy losing in higher divisions. Me, not so much. I said we've been better for much of the past 35 years, not...

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

It didn't feel like better very often. I'd fancy our current team to beat many of our past teams. Is that because the past teams' players are now old and retired? From 87 through to 97 you've got 2nd Division playoff battles followed by Premier League title challenges. From 2000 through to ...

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

Not really, unless you live in a world where you’re never happy unless you have the absolute best of everything. ;) Not really, more a case of remembering we've actually had better for much of the past 35 years. An extra bowl of gruel may appeal to Oliver Twist, not if you've had plenty to eat all ...

This Rovers team is beginning to look very very good.
In League 1.
Indeed. A little caveat that dampens the enthusiasm.

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

Great result. Hard to believe our last loss was Oldham, way back in October. Payback in about 2 weeks, methinks. Season 1979/80 Rovers went nineteen league division three games unbeaten. Now known as league One Rovers stand only one game away from equaling that record. Back then Rovers eventually l...

Graham :hyper:

Should have loaned someone else really.
Definitely. If we had, we'd be contesting the Premier League title right now. :hyper:
But then we wouldn't have had Darth's bemusing Eisenhower comment... :hyper:

How many games are we unbeaten now?

Re: Blackburn v Walsall, Tue 30 Jan 2018, KO 19:45

Like many i sometimes drive passed a football stadium on route down south. Without taking your eye off the road you can make out it is the home of Walsall fc. I then think about during my lifetime have Rovers played Walsall?...so endeth my interest in Walsall. It turns out we have played them some ...

They would have to sell him in this transfer window or risk losing him in the summer for nothing.
Well no, since he's under 24.

Indeed, that accent needs a lot of practice... I assume the difficulty lies in the translator attending rehearsals with a band located on the other side of the world?

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery

No, Allardyce didn't suggest we should get relegated, he created the impression that the best we could do in the PL was struggle to hang on to mid-table... which you seem to be echoing. I'm not glad we went down, I'd rather we'd have recaptured the competitive edge that made us a top half PL side be...
