Scoring one looks unrealistic at the moment. Our ball retention is abysmal across the board.

Right at the end of the half, Rovers started to find some space and chance to get a ball in a dangerous position. Honestly, I will be amazed who Mowbray brings on in the second half. It really looks like they can't make a decent pass happen, or get a good touch on the ball. I would suspect Brereton to come on sometime in the second half for Palmer and flip a coin on Reed or Rothwell coming on.

I’ve not been so relieved to see 0-0 on the board at half time for ages. Well, since the last time we were in the Championship anyway

Sounds like we will have to scrap to preserve a point.
Meanwhile, tot’s lose, & Liverpool up 2-0 over PSG (Sturridge; Milner pk)

The match stat’s make it appear as though we’re getting dominated. How have we looked after HT?

Armstrong off for Reed. Good defensive substitution.

Holy crap did that shoot the nerves. Really a point earned after seeing that match. Backs against the wall pretty much the first half. Second half was a little more even. Wouldn't have guessed that Mulgrew missing would have this effect, but that's where we sit.
Really don't know what to say for Rovers, I think possession was a problem, so was passing. Really never had a solid foothold in the match, but I think overall we did it and we reconvene on Saturday.

Mulgrew’s like the new Nelsen of our team. We’re much weaker without him shepherding our defence.

Good performance tonight and job well done. Rovers had to exorcise the last away defeat at Bristol and they stood up to the challenge. Tony Mowbray got his substitutions right with the introduction of Bennett and Reed when Derby were pressing hard for goal. Graham for Conway sounds like it was enforced. Thirteenth place and eleven points is good enough so far and if Bolton snd Sheff Weds lose tomorrow Rovers could be Eleventh.

Really hard earned point.
Mowbray got it wrong really with the starting line up. Derby forced us to play long and we weren’t able to play out from the back so you’ve got Armstrong and Dack trying to win long balls which was hopeless. It just went back to Derby and they came at us in waves.
After the first 10 minutes we were then really under a lot of pressure for the rest of the half. Graham on for Conway to give us some presence helped a little but first 10 minutes of the second half wasn’t much better. But then I felt like we settled and kept a really solid shape, defended well and Derby started running out of ideas. Especially once Bennett and Reed were on.
Couldn’t see how big a miss Dack’s was but he looked very disappointed not to score it was at the other end. But very happy with the point as really no one really stood out today and lots of silly mistakes all game. Nyambe, Lenihan and Smallwood probably the picks if there were any.

Both those happened, we still fell to 14th (same points & same gd as Norwich & the Wednesday, but fewer wins than either)Darth Rover wrote: ↑Tue Sep 18, 2018 9:52 pmGood performance tonight and job well done.
