Re: Where are they now?
A pity Villa look like they might get straight back. Would have loved to see Chris Samba at Ewood again - our best ever ch in my opinion.
Re: Where are they now?
I liked samba, but I reckon most would have Hendry and Nelsen ahead of him... Could be others further back... I've heard a rumour that football want invented by sky in 92... But personally I don't believe it.

I liked Samba, but I’d have Berg ahead of him too, maybe even Short.

Ponytail thing true. Peacock was bobbins though, as to a lesser extent was Amoruso.
Re: Where are they now?
Did I ever tell you that I sat with Lorenzo at a game (Charlton I think) which he was injured for due to fluid on the knee?
He spent the whole game with a cup of coffee balanced on his knee. Honestly. I don't know which knee it was though.

I've been watching Rovers since 1-1 draw against Leicester in 56/57. Matt Woods was great but I stick by what I said about Samba.
To be even more controversial I'll state that Le Saux was the best full back I ever saw in Rovers colours (and while I'm at it - Friedel the best goalkeeper.

Jason Steele relegated with Sunderland after a poor season and Jason Lowe can't get a game at Birmingham who are still fighting to stay up.

Re: Where are they now?
Sorry Growler, I missed this. I might have been at that game too, sat on that little bench inside the wall...!
I agree with you on Le Seaux, more reliable than Keith Newton but respectfully suggest Mike England over Matt Woods and C Samba. M England was the first "modern" centre half. He showed Jack Charlton how to pass out from defence and how to score from corners but had the footwork and timing of a clever mid-fielder. Classy but tough, he would have been an England ever-present and World Cup winner had he not been born in the Principality. Giraffe Jack wasn't in the same level but got the glory. Ah well.
Up the Rovers!
