Whoever that is on the statue, looks older than Shearer is now. Certainly not how he looked in his playing days.

That trade-mark celebration, that he usually (Ok, not always) did with an open hand rather than a pointy finger. Unless I've imagined that.

Maybe the one finger raised is symbolic of how many trophies he won. And that wasn't even at Newcastle.
