A massive decision by the owners following a mediocre start to the season.

Personally I think even a top manager who turns results around will struggle to make up the points gap and seriously challenge for a playoff spot this season (I hope I'm wrong).

In terms of a new manager, the timing is interesting with Moyes leaving his job and his links with Shaw - however I expect this a tad ambitious.

This doesn't make me happy. I feel for gb. Such a hard shitty task. He sorted the defence and just not taken our chances in front of goal. Hopefully someone will benefit from all his hard work. I just hope the next appointment is better than BFS replacement. Hopefully a well known manager will tons of experience.

It would be nice to think that Venky's have someone lined up already before asking Bowyer to leave. I think both parties knew it wasn't going to work out this season until financial restrictions were released. Who's caretaker in the mean time with all the backroom staff gone?

Moyes or Pearson plz.

Not going to happen, mind. But I'd love one of the two. Too pricey.

Chris Powell looking more likely?

I have it from a good source with ties to the club that if shebby (yes shebby is still involved with the club) gets his way then we will be getting a new manager from India, who has acquired all the correct qualifications.
I hope this isn't true but with venki's past record I am some what sceptical and pray this doesn't happen.
But with our club, these owners don't seem to have any clue, hopefully shaw will have intelligent input but has got his way in the past that hasn't worked out, Appleton etc
I am worried.
Bowyer was doing ok steadying the club, not only the team, feel very sorry for the guy.
Fingers crossed this info doesn't come true and we get a proven manager.

I am angry about this. This is complete nuts. Venkys and Derek Shaw have shown they know completely nothing about recruiting a manager. Thank you Gary Bowyer for what you have done for our club. I couldnt give a flying fuck which loser is going to be the next manager right now. :x

I think considering all the circumstances, Bowyer did about as good as a man could possibly do with Rovers.

Now...
What Superman is gonna swoop down and save us? ;)

I think last season's team was good enough for automatic promotion. Best strikeforce in the league and we finished 9th? That's the year he failed massively.

Seems odd to sack him now.

Injuries last year were ridiculous though. Yes, we underperformed at times but a lack of a settled team killed any promotion pipedreams.

Squad is still decent. Thought Bowyer should have stayed.

Great job stabilising the club but I feel he was tactically inept at times. Makes sense to do it now during a break and with a number of unattached managers around.

Take your pic

It almost seems like they've got someone lined up, and with the break for internationals they've got a bit of time to get him in and ready for the next game.
