Good to know that we have decent people pushing the youngsters at development level. We could do with getting a few more coming through.

Gibbon wrote:*edit - here it says coach Ian Jones, but earlier I read a report saying Billy Barr. Not sure who was in charge now.

It says here:
Billy Barr - Professional Development Phase Coach
Ian Jones - Assistant Professional Development Phase Coach

Whatever that means.
Interesting article with a few words from Barr here which clarifies their positions. :D

Lets promote the academy manager to the first team, give him no money, see what young players he can bring through to rebulid, then sack him for no reason :hyper:

:yeahright:

Meanwhile, Blackburn boss Paul Lambert has called for a winter break to be introduced into English football.
The 46-year-old made five changes for the FA Cup loss to West Ham and then six changes for Wednesday's defeat by Derby as they have a run of 10 games in 32 days.
"I would have it," Lambert told BBC Radio Lancashire when asked about the break. "I've experienced it and I know it's brilliant.
"It's really refreshing, you go away and you come back and you've done another pre-season.
"We can't win in winter, stop making us play!"

Rovers under 21's/18's

Post by wrinks_89 » Tue Apr 26, 2016 9:56 am

Not sure if there is a thread for this or if, anyone actually has any interest in it. Been reading quite a bit about Lewis Mansell who may be a decent up and comer. Anyone else follow their progress?

He definitely sounds promising, but could probably do with a loan out. How's Jordan Preston doing? The last I remember is that he was doing well on loan up in Scotland. Or Dean Rittenberg and Modou Cham? All three of those have been talked up as having huge potential in recent seasons.

This is the section for discussion on non-rovers football, but there's this thread in the Rovers section which you may want to use instead.

Also, welcome to RoversTalk! :hyper:

Yeah, Preston did very well I believe. I think he spent a few months there, spent some time at another club and went back to the same Scottish side. That ended in January though. Mo was playing for Hednesford town, I think they extended his contract? And thank you! I'm still getting the hang of it

Aha, thank you! As you can probably tell, I have no idea what I'm doing as of yet!
