New Chief Executive appointed -
Steve Waggott

Not sure how I made the link do that.
Waggott had, until recently, been a consultant at Southend United.
Previously, he was chief executive at Gillingham (2016-2017) and Coventry City (2011-2015) where he worked closely with current Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray and assistant manager Mark Venus.
He also spent seven years at Charlton Athletic (2004-2010) where he was chief executive for both the Community Trust and the Football Club.

All except one reader comment was a positive opinion of him at the time he left Coventry.

Unusual considering the state of their club at the time. I wonder how Charlton fans regarded him?

It’s SLIGHTLY worrying that he’s been in charge of two clubs who have suffered ownership and fan issues in recent years, but reassuring that he seens to have a ready made good working relationship with Mowbray and can get things done under unusual ownership conditions.

Why is that worrying? He didn't own them.

Venkys stooge... I heard he was best man at Steve Keans wedding and has a Kentaro 4 Eva tattoo. Also he buys his pies from a shop in Preston.

Because it appears he’s either:

a) a serial masochist
b) a serial lunatic
c) very good at manoeuvring clubs through difficult situations

Hopefully c, hence ‘slightly’.

I'm guessing that Mowbray wants to concentrate on team matters, not admin stuff, and has asked for a layer of management between himself and the owners.
