Just got back from this meeting - an hour of it is due to be broadcast on Radio Lancs tomorrow night. However, you can have my notes on proceedings in the meantime: -

1) Mike does a stats PowerPoint to outline where the club is now and highlight the positives
2) He gets shouted at until he gives up
3) Q&A starts and immediately becomes tinfoil hat
4) Glen get's going with a VERY big tinfoil hat
5) Someone actually says "where has all the money gone?"
6) Several people basically say that they want the manager to be given more money to spend
7) Increasing obsession with trying to only get yes or no answers even when a perfectly reasonable answer has already been given
8) Level of rudeness & offensive comments increases until some people (Brag?) walk out calling Robert Coar a dickhead
9) Some mildly sensible comments about getting more football experience on a larger board made
10) Owen Coyle says his "current budget is competitive at the top end of the championship"

That's it really. There was a queue of people wanting to apologise to both Mike Cheston and Robert Coar at the end for the behaviour of some of our supporters who really made idiots of themselves. Largely it all went as expected. It also served to answer the question some people were still asking of why the owners don't want to meet with people who approach these meetings in that way.

I appreciate you taking your time to do this Ethiaa. It is good to have an update from over the seas about the inner workings of the club.

Can't say I'm disappointed as not very many sports fans are rational.

They actually used the word dickhead?

Were there more people queuing to apologise than the shouty angry nutjob mob?

It was either dickhead or knobhead (shouted from the safety of the lift as they left). It was all very school playground and did eventually get a rise from Robert Coar which appeared to be their only reason for being there - get someone to get irritated and then walk out. Fair play to Robert Coar who was trying to encourage them to sit down with him and have a pint to discuss things. It's bloody sad when someone who has worked for the good of the club for so long is treated like that.

Numbers apologising and walking out about the same at a guess - I don't include those who started their subsequent question by apologising to Mike/Robert. Those people had only come to make noise though; it started from the very first minute. What's the point in going to a meeting if you aren't interested in hearing what others have to say?

The next meeting is on the 16th March 2017. If you're interested in coming then let me know - it's really important to represent to the media, the people who work at the club, and the owners, that the rude, disrespectful and ill informed behaviour of some fans does not represent all of us by any stretch of the imagination. It's only by giving the club and owners sensible people to engage with that we can start to draw things together and have useful conversations.

That's easy - to disrupt the meeting for everyone else so that any rational message gets lost in the farce. I said when the meeting was announced that they had no interest in communication or building bridges. The club has an impossible job dealing with them.

That's actually a pretty interesting presentation, and a valiant attempt to answer some of the #VenkysOut mobs concerns - if only they'd actually listened to it instead of being twats.

I take it the rumours on page 28 were going to be addressed if he'd got that far?

The academy stuff is pretty interesting, and it seems obvious where the money has all gone when looking at those figures, declining ticket sales, loss of TV money etc, new contracts... it's all we can do to fill part of that hole through sales.

Yeah, but who wants a power point presentation when there's club officials to offend and slander? :hyper:
