"You can't say its a surprise", Simon Garner

Post by WacoRover » Thu Jan 19, 2017 6:19 pm

Any facts or substance, in this opinion-piece from the Telegraph two days ago?

Garner basically says Coyle inherits the same apathy & refusal to act from the owners that Lambert got, despite their promises for more money.

They put up money...every day...to keep this club up & running. (What was the loss last year, £2.4 mil)?

They put in about £25 million a year. It's not a surprise that money isn't available because we have to conform with FFP - our turnover isn't high enough to allow additional investment without breaking the rules. Same old nonsense, not worth repeating.

So, why does Garner, of all people, write this?

Footballers aren't that bright. Also, he's kinda right - it's NOT surprising there is limited money.

Waco, sorry if this is off subject but have you heard anything about Bob McNair the owner of the Houston Texans maybe being interested in buying Rovers. All this dependent of course should the current owners of Rovers be willing to part with the club?

Wow, I have not heard that. Very interesting, though. Lots of my countrymen (John Henry, et al) are intrigued with the idea of owning these old English clubs.

I reckon it'd work. Like with Axel Witsel.
