Blackburn Rovers have ever played Barnet before. A big margin of victory would be nice, any Rovers victory would be a blessing.
To my knowledge and certainly in my 40 years as a long suffering Rovers follower i do not remember playing Barnet. They have only been a league club for a few years and are mostly known for FA Cup campaigns while they were a non league club. This is Rovers first ever appearance in the first round since i first started following them. Without delving into the history books i think we got through the first two rounds and then beat Coventry who were then a Division One club either in the third or fourth rounds. I think eventually we were beaten by Aston Villa 1-0 in a reply. Barnet are currently league two and only last week played Accrington Stanley who are our near neighbours. Stanley beat them so if form and expectation are anything to go off you would think Rovers will be in the draw for round two on Monday night. However it concerns me we have several injuries and suspensions. Not that Mowbray would play the full first team but it would have been nice to have Chapman, Conway, Smallwood, Samuel and Bennett available. Saying that im not sure if Bennett is available. One thing for sure Rovers will be playing several players who would usually be sat on the bench or not even in the squad. This game will be like an FA Cup final for Barnet and we have seen the performances of similar unfancied clubs when they have visited Ewood park this season. A recent Portsmouth vlogger on youtube on attending Ewood park during the monsoon conditions and seeing his team beaten 3-0 was more interested in the great quality of the hot chocolate served in the ground. Seriously if we make it too comfortable for them on and off the pitch It would not surprise me if Barnet add Rovers to their list of giant killing acts.

So we are getting beat by Barnet. Think it's only a matter of time before vast majority of fans turn on Mowbray now. Some could argue it's better to go out of the cups to focus on the league... But we went out of the League Cup early and it didn't help us focus.
Or we'll go on and win and you'll look a bit sillydwayne cage wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2017 4:04 pmSo we are getting beat by Barnet.
