Blackpool v Blackburn, Tue 28-11 2017
Re: Blackpool v Blackburn, Tue 28-11 2017
why are we shipping goals again, we had a great away record before our last 2 games. Nearly conceded the same compared to all the previous games. Still we are scoring more so I shouldn't complain.

Dack is turning into 750,000 well spent. Bargain of the season

We also have the 2nd best goal difference. A win for rovers and a slip up from Shrewsbury and we could be 2nd.

They put Dack in a box, so it's okay.
I only got to see the first half as I had to drive somewhere during the second half, so only got to listen to video. Although I did see Charlie Mulgrew's free kick goal, so there's that.
The first half was either club's game to win. Nyambe wasn't very impressive, messed up on the corner (but honestly can't ask for perfection all the time). I am not too concerned about the end scoreline, good luck to most clubs that can score 4 goals in a match. I remember last season we struggled to get 3 goals in a match, so I will take 4-2 wins all day long.
I can't praise the pairing of Downing and Mulgrew enough right now. Sure, we could improve upon Downing as a centreback, but right now at this level, these two are probably the best pairing you can have in this league. If I am to be very critical and start looking at the next level, I want to say Williams needs to either have good competition (more than S.Hart), or replaced entirely. He seems to lose confidence when he goes for a run and gets stopped, then doesn't try it again for the rest of the half (or until someone yells at him). So his consistency needs to improve.
I am glad we have Whittingham at this level, because he is able to be very average for us and go anonymous for the match. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes not. Smallwood is a very good scrappy midfielder to have, and if we can find a similar version of him that improves the technical ability aspect of his game, then I think it will be great for the system we have. Obviously this club needs to address wingers in the January transfer window with 2 permanent first-team wingers on the roster (if funds allow it).
With the forwards, I think we are okay, but it is time to worry about Danny Graham and his replacement. If Nuttall is it and progresses into that type of player, great. Otherwise, looking for an additional striker permanently would be a good idea for competition.

You seem to have forgotten that if Charlton had bettered our result, then Peterborough wouldn't be able to make the gap between us and the pack any smaller.mcteeth wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 4:56 pmCharlton are also on 34 points...Rover the Top wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 2:03 pmUnless we lose by 10 goals or more, we can't drop down to 6th and be less than 4 points clear of the pack with a game in hand.
We drop if they better our result sure and 4 points is a lot closer than a possible 8 with a game in hand.

It’s been a long time, and the wait will continue, as we didn’t manage it this month either.Rover the Top wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:58 amWhen was the last time we won all our games in a month?
