There have been pretzels that make people thirsty on many sides, on many sides. I have been victim to those pretzels, they have made me thirsty as well. The thirst that is brought about by these pretzels are of the likes which we have never seen before. These pretzels have shown to be dangerous, and creates thirst. Big thirst. Ocean-sized thirst. I once ate a pretzel that made me yuugly thirsty, and I was so thirsty, that I drank from a water fountain. I never drink from water fountains, that is what cups and straws are for. But I was so thirsty from this pretzel, I had to go back to the man that was selling the pretzels and ask him, "Why do you sell pretzels that make me thirsty?" He then told me that this can of Diet Coke was for sale, thankfully he put it in a cup for me. He did a bigly favor, what a great guy, let me tell you. Even though I only talked to him for a little bit, I could tell he was a good man, even though he made me thirsty. But he is a good man. He did a great thing. And that is why I am issuing an executive order banning pretzels from making people thirsty, so we can Make Pretzels Savory Again!

Crewe couldn't beat nine men and Rovers second best team in the first game yet it has been hailed as the great Crewe come back :? Part of me wants Rovers to put Crewe where they belong tonight but I still have misgivings about how wise it is to pursue progression in this competition this season. We lost Bennett for four games because of it. We play Charlton on Saturday and surely that is more important.

As fiscally minded this organization has started to be, it would be wise to get as far as they can in the competition. Plus it adds extra experience for fringe players which we desperately need.

Team news available. Leutwiler in for Raya. Caddis and Ward start along with Mulgrew and Williams. Harper, Smallwood and Conway along with Tomlinson, Nuttall and Graham. A few of the youngster make up the bench with Dack and Samuel. Looks a decent squad and provided we can keep eleven men on the field we should prevail.

Harper gets himself booked for kicking the ball away after a foul. How bloody stupid after he was sent off in the first game. Mowbray had no option but to sub him at HT. Time to give our home grown lads a chance and send Harper back to West Brom.

Phew - no extra time! I was also getting a bit worried about Dack sliding around in the conditions. :o

Kicked it straight towards the ref's head too, great reactions by him not to be smashed in the face.

Good game overall, Rovers had most of the ball but didnt create many clear cut chances. Crewe were awful, but an extremely wet pitch and snowy spells didn't help matters. A game full of misplaced passes and slips (mainly from Crewe, one of which lead to the goal), to Rovers' credit they worked hard all game and were first to most balls and rebounds. A couple of scares when Crewe should have scored from a free header, and from a shot that went inches round the post towards the end, but overall job done professionally, bring on the next round. Hope the guy who was wrapped in a space blanket and taken away by paramedics is OK.

It's been a long time since it felt good to be a Rovers fan. I'd forgotten what it felt like to go to a match and genuinely be expectant of seeing a few goals, a decent performance and good result.
