Derrick Williams, 3 shots on goal. We've had some good chances, need to finish

Rovers can score goals and so can Rotherham. Both teams concede goals all too often....0-0 written all over it...

I was expecting Shrewsbury to have been caught by Rovers by now but to their credit they have picked up form again. Third place is no good to Rovers in relation to the lottery of the play offs. January 2017 was an important month for Rovers whereas Owen Coyle needed to go to let a new manager have a chance of saving us from relegation. That decision was delayed four or five games too late. January 2018 will be equally important. We need a couple of quality players who can hit the ground running just to give us that push on towards a top two finish.

Very frustrating to let two points slip at the end, but not disastrous. 6 points over 4 games in 10 days, no losses, with illness reportedly sweeping through the squad at various times is a decent return. It could have been better, but I wouldn't have turned that down before Christmas.

A couple of weeks until a huge game against Shrewsbury now, a chance for everyone to rest and shake off the bugs and niggles, hopefully with a good result in the FA Cup in the meantime.

Looking at the stats both Wigan and shrews edged hard fought wins. Not the best results but given the sickness in the squad I can’t ask for or expect much more. Need to go on a massive winning streak again and apply pressure to the top 2.

Yeah, I can't gripe. Especially since Rotherham had a good chance to win late.

Wigan in 1st; Rovers chasing, I'd have said back in August that being in 3rd on New Year's would be good.

Yeah just worries me that we just can’t seem to overtake shrews. A win today and then beat them would have done it. More pressure on us to win now and less on them. Seem to get close and either slip up or they pull a few wins out the bag.
