Graham with the level goal! Samuel proving me wrong with the assist.

I guess I should be content with one point, but Rovers were the better team today. We can go back up to 2nd with a win Tuesday

1-1 draw, could have been a loss with Northampton parking the bus the whole match. Conway was the man of the match to me, and taking him off was a mistake. Samuel, aside from the assist, was a hot pile of garbage. Graham was phased out of the match for the most part. Dack didn't have any real moments of inspiration.

It was interesting to see Mowbray throw on Armstrong and Payne at the same time, taking Smallwood and Conway off. It showed the lack of true wide midfielders the squad has, where Conway is the only one that truly fits that mold.

I think without Mulgrew and Williams slotting back there was interesting. It seemed like the tempo increased with him back there.

It was a quiet match for sure, definitely dominated possession but not really any quality chances to be had. Fair play to Northampton and their defense.

Kept hold of 2nd place for long. Good result for shrews I thought they would slip up today. We should have put pressure on Wigan today.

I know the conventional wisdom says that we struggled at Sixfields due to squad sickness. But they do say that you can only play as well as your opponent allows you to. Cobblers set up against us to defend, and they make it very scrappy and attritional. Maybe, just maybe, Northampton have worked out how to stop us winning

We shall see...

What has happened to both Bradford and Scunthorpe. It is practically a three horse race for two promotion places. Realistically it is Wigan who are going to win the league. We have to make sure we are better than Shrewsbury. Good start to his Rovers career for Bell today. Mowbray has a selection issue for the next game. Should he start with the impact players namely Payne and Armstrong at the expense of Conway and Samuel.

As Man City demonstrated last week, you can't win every match no matter how good you are or how much you dominate the play. This won't be the only match we won't win, but we are a good team and quality will out at the end of the season.
More specifically, I agree with the comments re Samuel , ironically it was his superb pass from the wing that saved us a point. The really significant element was the form of Amari Bell. For most of the second half he was our most impressive attacker yet had the legs to run back and defend when necessary. He'll do for me.
Mowbray now has serious options and selection problems, no bad thing
On a downer I thought Armstrong was very poor, when Bell flashed the ball across the face of the goal Armstrong missed it not once but twice. Nuttall might have won this match for us.
Roll on Tuesday, one day we are going to give some team an almighty hiding, it might be then.

I agree with everything you said. I don't THINK Armstrong or Payne had the impact sub they did last time. I believe he threw on way too many attacking players at once (Dack, Bennett, Payne, Armstrong in midfield) and it turned into hoofapalooza.

It is rather ironic that Samuel who was trash all match got us the assist. I don't think it warrants a start, but he needs to come off the bench in place of someone that can play on the wing.
