Well done Rovers top of the league. One loss in twenty games. Unbeaten at home since September. Well done too Wigan for beating Man City. I bet some of their fans wish they had three points rather than another FA Cup game.

Only 1,238 went to the game according to the BBC report - is that right?

I know it was on a Monday and on sky but wow that's low. Didn't look that empty on telly to me.

Not a bad view from the top...

Points on the board or games in hand?

I'd rather have the points on the board I think it applies more pressure to teams then needing points from the games in hand.

I'd rather be 12 points ahead with the others having 1 game in hand please.

So, when was the last time Rovers were top of the league - any league?
I suppose last night's win could be described as 'workmanlike' . TM must have got the message about Evans by now - we have 3/4 lads better than him. He can't pass and his shooting is abysmal. The difference Payne made when he came on was immediate.
I don't want to moan when our record is so good this season, but can't help thinking we still lack urgency when we take the field - far too casual for my liking. We will have to step up a gear next season.

First off, that game looked sexy in terms of presentation from the cameras. Going from iFollow to ESPN (or whoever was covering it) is a massive step up in terms of production. Glad Rovers got a couple internationally covered matches.

Now onto the performance. 1st half is the only thing I saw and it was mashed potatoes. In the terms that it wasn't good, it was messy, and nothing super productive came from it. A lot of problems about Rovers hoof ball is that for that one guy that is really good at heading it (Graham), he has to be in or around the box with a player or two making movement around him to open up passing opportunities.

However, when it does work, goals happen. Graham's goal is a little example of that, along with Armstrong's goal.

Watching the 2nd half extended highlights, I see that they did pretty well with the exception of about 2 errors. But when Dack is on fire, he really makes everyone around him a lot better. He was doing very well creatively, making good passes and creating space.

Lenihan is still a bit off with a partnership of Mulgrew, while Downing has had the whole season to play with him. Corry Evans needs to not be on the field, or the bench. I think it's time Tomlinson and Travis are given a push. I am still not totally sold on Bell yet, I like his speed and confidence to go at a player, but there is still a little bit lacking that I hope develops. I didn't get to see Antonsson subbed on, and the highlights didn't really show him doing much, so I presume it was a rather pedestrian come back (which is fine by me).

Overall, I think the first half was garbage pale kids, but the second proved to be fruitful. Glad they got the 3 points, but there are some things to change for Saturday.

Points on the board for sure, you still got to play those games in hands, and they probably need to be washed.

Good news for Rovers. The Shrews had several players reporting illness prior to the game. Maybe now Rovers superior depth in squad will start to show. Get Chapman back and Rovers will be stronger than any other time in the season thus far.
