Not too long ago we just beat them, 3-1. Hopefully a repeat performance will come about and surge Rovers forward.

This game start quite an important 8 days with 3 tricky fixtures. Walsall away, Wimbledon away on Tuesday then home to Wigan next Sunday. Across that time could well see chopping and changing of the top 3 (even 4 if Rotherham keep winning).

Shrewsbury have a tough game away at Charlton tomorrow with Wigan on paper having a relatively easy home game to Rochdale, although could have a bit of a hangover from the FA Cup.

There will be plenty of ups and downs before the end of the season, when hopefully class will prevail.

When Smallwood eventually gets his yellow card i’m Just wondering who we pair in the middle. Do we go with Mulgrew in midfield and have Lenihan and downing at CB.

Well, we have Tomlinson, Whittingham (when he comes back from injury), Evans, and Bennett that can slot back there. Maybe also Gladwin and Travis too. So we do have options, it's a matter of getting the right one. Personally it's Bennett and Tomlinson, with Travis on the bench. But I can see the advantages of having someone like Evans or Whittingham on the bench or playing first.

From what I've seen this year, Travis would be my choice. He's probably suspended for this weekend though.
I see Evans and Whittingham in the same mould as Lowe, and they should go the same way!

I am not so concerned too much about what Wigan do. With three games in hand their destiny is well in their own hands. That will only become interesting if Rovers and another team beat Wigan. Rovers main concern is to try and put some pressure on Shrewsbury. Rovers task to beat Walsall you would think would be easier than Shrewsbury's task to beat Charlton. We saw against Bury that teams at the bottom of the league are finally coming round to the fact that the final ten games or so are looming. If you want to avoid relegation then now would be a good time to do something about it. Expect teams now to put up more of a fight. Rovers have class though. With players like Dack and Armstrong on form what could go wrong.

Yeah once Travis is back from suspension he seems the ideal candidate to step in if Smallwood does get booked in the next 4 games before the slate gets wiped clean. Pair him with the experience of Bennett and should be okay.

Aside from his hack at Pompey yes, as has Tomlinson when he's played.

Evans has had plenty of chances and never really excelled. I'd go with Travis, though yeah, Tomlinson seems like a prospect too.

Travis reminds me of a younger Robbie Savage- bundles of energy, quite aggressive. In fact everything that Evans isn't.

I just want to see Armstrong continue to play. Great result the last time. And, keep healthy.
