It's a slightly dodgy position, from a ball that he would be expecting to come in as a cross rather than a shot on target, and he's had a fraction of a second to react to the lack of defenders to be getting near it.
His initial position is fine, the problem is he then moves too far to the right as the cross comes in. He's got all the time it takes for the ball to come over to watch the flight and get behind it. Which should be routine for a pro goalie. You could blame the defenders if an attacker got to it and deflected it at point blank range. But since no one got to it from either side, it's up to the goalkeeper to not let the ball bounce past him into the middle of the goal. It doesn't make a lot of sense to say because no one else got near it, he should be excused for not being where he should have been in case no one got near it?

Anyway, it's happened.

Raya is without doubt a great shot stopper, but he's weak in the goal mouth rough and tumbles, and his kicking is poor. He is young and should improve, but will he learn swiftly enough and be ready for the Championship?
I'm not sure, but happy to trust TM's judgement.

He's fine as a goalie, he just made a howler on this occasion. Unfortunately as a keeper that's always going to result in a conceded goal. And in this case cost us some points.

Is the weather bad in Blackburn?
If it was in the Home Counties, it would be a state of emergency with the army out and lead headlines on the news. So no.
It seems I owe you an apology after learning the snow was so bad, two Russian assassins tourists were unable to make it to Salisbury cathedral having specifically come over that weekend to see it, twice travelling over from their hotel in London... :yeahright:
