I think it’s all up to Armstrong or Mulgrew set piece now.

We need to score a typical shrews last min winner
Re: NEW DATE - Gillingham v Blackburn, Tue 10 April 2018, KO 19:25
Fuck it. Didn’t turn up today. Displays have been a bit worrying last 3 games. Need Bradford to do us a fav on Thursday.
Re: NEW DATE - Gillingham v Blackburn, Tue 10 April 2018, KO 19:25
If it’s the Bradford we played the other week then there is no chance of that.....
Tonight’s result will give Shrewsbury a bit of hope and I fear they will want to put On a display after Sunday’s shock defeat.
Interested to hear from anyone that went tonight....

Just on the train back. We weren't great tonight but we weren't terrible either.
Was a 0-0 game as nothing really happened although I'll credit Gillingham I thought they defended very well.
We looked a bit tired and slow in possession tonight and a little short of ideas. The entire first half was just Lenihan hitting diagonals towards Graham but it never amounted to anything.
Dack didn't look fit and we had a little spell with Samuel and Payne on who did okay but not really chances of note.
Mulgrew forced two routine saves from free kicks and Whittingham did nothing aside from take bad corners.
A little frustrating and concerned we haven't got much in the tank to get through these 5 games without slip ups.
At least it rained in the second half with no roof

Wouldnt it be more fair if games were now played at the same time. Shrewsbury and Rovers dont play at the same until April 28th. Each club play at least twice before then. If Shrewsbury draw with Bradford, Rovers may go to Bristol this coming weekend knowing a point will not be that bad. If they were playing at the same time both clubs would be more compelled to win.

I think what you'd say is quite evident is Wigan are playing very well again and both us and Shrewsbury are making harder work of things.
If I was to have one grumble having been able to watch Bradford on TV and be at MK Dons and tonight is that I'd possibly want to give Bell a start ahead of Williams. He's done nothing wrong but I'm a little fed up of seeing the same pattern of play over and over again of Mulgrew spreading it wide and Williams always checking back and playing it back or sideways. Whenever I've seen Bell he's a lot more aggressive and forward thinking similarly to Bennett and Nyambe on the right.
We look like we need a bit of energy and fresh impetus.

What everyone else said, the game was drab. Really didn't have much in terms of creativity or on the ball presence, was mainly short passes to hoof it down pitch. I think it matches like this, Rovers need Bell on the pitch. I have no clue what instructions Williams is getting, or if it's his own confidence, but he doesn't seem up to being a left back at times. It looks like he is an extension of a 3 centreback setup.
Sometimes I don't even remember if Evans touched the ball, but I assume he did because he's a midfielder. I hope in the summer Mowbray is targeting another Smallwood-esque player, because Evans just baffles me.
This was the type of match that Mulgrew wins because of a free kick. Rovers had that chance and it was on target, which is the least you can ask for.
Overall, I can't really say there was a standout player except for Bennett as usual. Dude just hustles.

Well apart from two goal kick start he punted straight out, which is normal for Raya, he was probably our best performer. Made a key save in the first half and was commanding off his line when required. Also like how quickly he look at to distribute the ball.

When you get so used to winning, a draw can feel like a defeat, but we're another point closer to promotion.

This is true, and an away point against a side with one of the best keepers in the league (IMO) and who parked the bus is a pretty decent result, which should fire us up for the run in.
Re: NEW DATE - Gillingham v Blackburn, Tue 10 April 2018, KO 19:25
Yeah exactly. Given the deficit we once had to Wigan and Shrewsbury it's been an amazing season and I don't want people to think I'm being negative overall, I'm not, just really wanting us to get over the line for automatic promotion.Rover the Top wrote: ↑Wed Apr 11, 2018 8:07 amWhen you get so used to winning, a draw can feel like a defeat, but we're another point closer to promotion.

I think the frustration is we don't yet have much idea of what we need to secure promotion, beyond winning every game. A win last night would have just given a little bit more comfort. But we're still 5 points ahead of Shrewsbury, they may have a game in hand but they have to win it and we'll still be ahead of them if they do.
