That's ridiculous.

Also the pedant in me wants to correct that it's Shrewsbury Town not Shrewsbury United.

Also it's intangible but they'll be hugely disappointed to lose a final at Wembley, especially against lower league opposition. They'll have to pick themselves up and really have to go to Bradford and win, won't be easy

What with Wigan beating Man City and getting knocked out in the next round of the FA cup. Shrewsbury going all the way to the final in the checkatrade. It proves that Tony Mowbray is a genius by exiting the FA Cup in the third round and letting both Rochdale and Bury progress in the checkatrade at Rovers expense.

Though Bradford are having an apalling run of form right now.

Shrewsbury just lost to Lincoln City in the Checkertade Trophy final at Wembley.
That Rhead deserves to be arrested for assault though. :o
Looks bad in slow mo. At normal speed it looks like he shits himself ahead of the impending, unavoidable, collision.

That said, he was also the guy that Joey Barton had his dive to try and get sent off after being elbowed.... So who knows.

Paul Hurst has made some very negative comments after the defeat at Wembley. He's quite openly laid into his players about not dealing with the occasion well and quite negatively spoke about it being a dress rehearsal for the play offs.

I noticed some Shrewsbury fans have started a thread on their forum about Blackbat’s defence of Rhead, so I’m putting a link back to there in an attempt to create the forum equivalent of the large hadron collider- only with banter.

The large bantron collider if you will.

If I apply my banter with my elbow but with my eyes all screwed up closed, will I get away with it?

You could argue about intent but it seems pretty clear it was dangerous to me. That would be serious foul play and a red card. But hey, it makes for an awesome gif which is all anyone REALLY cares about.

If it wasn't for the number of incidents by this chap, I'd stand by my original opinion; when watching in real time it looks like he shits himself and takes evasive. However, given he's done this before, as with Barton, and his own fans dub him a nutter, then sure, its probably intentional.

If you're talking deliberate elbow to the throat, well at that point his back his fully turned so there's no possible way he could make that contact deliberately.

I've actually registered, waiting approval. To be fair, the replies to that thread are all sound.

I'm mostly upset that they've quoted me as typoing when I haven't. "Unaoidable" I guess....

You mean like someone shooting a handgun through a bathroom door couldn't have possibly have shot the person they knew to be in the bathroom deliberately? :D
