First time I've seen Rothwell live and he did some very good things and deserved motm. Agreed, Evans was good too, just did the simple thing, well.

I'm pleased we came back and was worried we'd slip up and be their first win. Saturday is going to be extremely tough

Overall a good performance tonight. Regarding Joe Rothwell it was difficult to see what Tony Mowbray saw in him during pre season. There are signs now he can become a first team regular. Plenty of injuries to evaluate before the next game but lets look at the positives. We maybe drawing too many games but Rovers remain unbeaten and some of that is a good team spirit.

Mulgrew is brilliant from the spot. Taking two very crucial pens in one game must be hard going

Smallwood, Lenihan and Bennett looked as though they hadn't slept for a week. They were dire, particularly Lenihan.
A racehorse trainer once told me that it is a total impossibility for horses to show their best form every time they raced. So I'll put Lenihan's performance last night down to a blip in form, he is a much better player than he showed last night.
I hope Armstrong is OK - Mowbray tends to withdraw players who are injured quite quickly (and quite sensibly too!). Conway was anonymous when he came on and Nuttall just wasn't up to the pace - hard to criticise the lad as he is well short of match practice.
Rothwell had a great match but the outstanding player for me was once again Nyambe. Why this lad doesn't get mom baffles me. We'll be lucky to keep hold of him - he's improving every game.

Agree, Nyambe was outstanding once again. I just wish we had a carbon copy of him for left back.

Rothwell looks a proper player. Fair play to the recruitment team for identifying him. An attacking trio of Dack/Palmer/Rothwell excites me a lot!
