These international breaks annoy me! Hopeful of getting back on track, & picking up a point or three vs Villains.
Also, to see if the newer guys can be productive, maybe Brereton can get his first for Rovers.

Would be nice to see if Rodwell sneaks into the 18, but also would be great to see Reed can get into the 11 over Smallwood.

C’mon, you Rovers!

Tammy Abraham making his debut for Villa.

Referee's having a nightmare here. Disallowed a perfectly good goal, and not given a clear penalty.

Bit of a weird match for the ref thus far. Not making some crucial calls, but then again it favors us right now.

Disappointing at the end to give the free kick which put Villa level. Great team effort overall, but it's sad to see the 2 points slip away.

Good start to the season for Rovers overall. Placed mid table and apart from the second half at Bristol City Rovers have competed well. Some disappointing late goals conceded but thats football. Rovers are work in progress regarding building a good squad and the fear that Rovers would find the Championship too difficult has on many accounts been dispelled. Tony Mowbray can be more than satisfied with his teams performances and the ask now would be to find more quality from the squad which looks promising as the season progresses. You can judge the quality of the team when you look at who was not used today on the subs bench.

Spot on Darth, it was a solid line up and it still needs improvement. I really do believe a central midfielder is needed, and a permanent replacement for Graham as well.
About the 70th minute, Graham had very little left in the tank and used his experience and strength to do what he could. Otherwise, Reed was responsible for both goals, showed a lot of tenacity and effort. Brereton really not too impressive yet. He has those moments where you see the worth, but it still needs to be worked on.
So now with Derby upcoming, definitely have hopes for a win.
