Blackburn Rovers VS Sunderland

Post by DunnFC » Mon Dec 31, 2007 8:10 pm

Wai i man!

Well up next during the festive busy period we have Roy :wanker: Keanes championship buys and its a must win game for Rovers to follow up the derby game and build on some much needed confidence.

Injuries - Ooijer definatley out
Dunn doubtful
Santa Cruz doubtful
Reid doubtful with a tight calf problem
Samba expecting his 1st child.
Savage has a slight hamstring problem ;)

Hopefully the win against the rams will give us some umph and let us take 3 pts on wednesday night anything less and il be very dissapointed.

My line up

Friedel
Emerton
Nelsen
Khizanishvili
Warnock
Bentley
Mokoena
Tugay
Gamst
Santa Cruz
McCarthy

subs - brown,berner,reid,dunn,derbyshire

ive got to have a 1-0 banker here.

Gamst on the right, Reid on the left? :-?

How long is Samba having off for his wife having a baby? I think I'd put him back in instead of Nelsen.

Happy new year everyone!!

Have to say i'd agree with putting Samba and Zurab in the middle - Hopefully Samba would be concentrating on dedicating a goal or two to his new kid. Nelsen has been particularly shocking (by the standards we've come to expect - Not going to complain too much) and Zurab's not really been too bad (apart from at right back, but he was always going to get torn apart by Petrov)

i think despite his loss of form mccarthy has to play alongside santa cruz. derbyshire has been relatively ineffectual so far, roberts isnt as good as mccarthy and despite bentley's magnificent form, i think we play better with him on the right with two strikers up top.

Does anyone here think Mokoena is useless, part from his goal against city in cup last season, i cant think of ewt decent hes done... id rather have one of our young guns play instead of him, just dont rate the guy at all.

I wouldn't say useless, but i've certainly seen better :-) . Think the main problem is that when he does something bad, it's usually so cringeworthingly bad that you remember it for a long time.

(Either that, or you laugh about it throughout the rest of the match - the, erm, \"tackle\", in the Derby game being the most recent face curler)

Mokoena got to McCarthy's wayward pass and set up Bentley for the winner against Derby. Does that count as 'ewt decent'?

yeh, that can count as something decent, but he isn't really consistent then is he?

I think thats what rovers need, a good solid consistent midfielder... unless we get a good RB, then move bentley into centre like we have been doing, and put emerton in RM.
