I think we can win this one. I think Sparky will remind them how humiliating it was losing 4-0 at home to them. Mind you, we beat Villa 4-0 at their place back in '97 and they probably thought they'd come to Ewood later in that season and do us over....but we won 5-0.

Okay, my theory is crap.

Thing is we were only humiliated by the referee and his "assistants".

Do we know beforehand which referees take charge of which games? Something I've never really thought about until now.

Hopefully we won't get Bennett.

Hopefully we won't get any of them, and they'll devise a sensible way of refereeing the game before the match....

I can but dream.

No need to take your own life. Or do you just want to show that you'll bleed for you club?

I think the result will hinge purely on the first goal.

Villa score and it will turn into a rout, if we score I reckon we'll make a real game of it,

We've only failed to win once having taken a lead this season. And we're pretty strong at coming back into games. So if we score first, I'll feel confident we can get all three points, if they score first, I still wouldn't write us off.

It's games like Villa that we really need to win to challenge for Europe, I fancy a draw would be a good result as Villa will be tough to beat. They have good pace and big forwards and I worry about Zurab when he got totally done at the man City game.

Bloody Reid giving a bloody freekick away on the bloody corner of the bloody box!

BLOODY HELL!!!

Edit: They just hit the crossbar because we gave away another BLOODY freekick! Only a matter of time before they score a second now!

Just finished listening to the game on the radio and I'm delighted with a point. Of course its frustrating that we missed a penalty and then went into the lead, but a point away at Villa is a great result. It sounded from the commentary that Ooijer was very solid at the back. Maybe Nelsens injury could be a blessing in disguise. I really like Ooijer. He was our best defender at the start of the season before his injury and its great to have him back. Bentley sounded a threat all match and Dunn apparently did really well for our goal.

All in all a very good result. I worried for us today because I think Villa are a very good side, but the lads did great. Well done boys!!!!!

Agreed! Reid should have his pinkies lopped off for giving away that freekick though!
