Re: Gaining experience...
Well, what I was trying to say was that just because you hear that a 16 year old has got a lot of potential, it doesn't mean they're going to be a first team regular a couple of years later. Occasionally you see a teenager develop quickly enough to break into the main side, but most are 21/22 before they're really ready to hold down a place. It's the same with the Portuguese kids who seem to have been written off just because they've come from the same country. We've got a lot of talented youngsters, but I think fans are guilty of expecting too much too soon from some of them.
But yes, Kean's comparisons were good for comedy value, but nothing else.

Re: Gaining experience...
Fair enough. I do tend to get overly excited when I think we've got a special youngster coming through and probably even more so given he was a centre mid "breaking through" at a time when we needed them dearly. With Cairney, Evans and Lowe, I feel a lot more comfortable there.Rover the Top wrote:Well, what I was trying to say was that just because you hear that a 16 year old has got a lot of potential, it doesn't mean they're going to be a first team regular a couple of years later. Re: Gaining experience...
Judge pleased to escape Blackburn Rovers nightmare
"I wasn’t enjoying it at Blackburn. It’s hard to go to training every week knowing there’s no game for you at the weekend."
“I don’t even know what the problem was there to be honest. Someone would have to ask the manager why I wasn’t in his plans. I kept my head down, I was no trouble and I worked hard but it just wasn’t happening."
“That’s not a dig at the manager, he is playing the players he wants to play and that’s fair enough.
“But he knows me and knows I can’t just sit there and not play.”
“I had couple of offers from Championship teams, but I just decided to [go to Brentford,] a team on the up and going for promotion”

Good for them! Hopefully he'll get a run of games now as i know left back and left midfield is something Fleetwood have struggled with this season.

Can't blame him. He's a hero at Brentford despite missing 2 pens in 2 games
Re: Gaining experience...
Keep Judge. Don't sign Varney.
