Rovers said to be lining up attacking midfielder Jack Payne. The Huddersfield player has been on loan at Oxford so far this season.
Doesn't he play pretty much exactly Dack's position?

Good point and very valid comment. It is only paper talk at the moment but maybe Mowbray wants a little more from midfield. Smallwood and Dack are one of the first on the team sheet but Evans in particular has been disappointing. Again there is good argument to give players like Tomlinson a chance but it is coming to the sharp end of the season. When a player becomes available that has done well in a position perhaps the manager feels needs improving then he may be tempted to strengthen from outside the club. Only paper talk like i said but the rumours of Armstrong and Bell started the same way.

Seems like the Payne thing is going to happen. I was at the Oxford game and he was by miles their best player and one of the best players on the pitch that day.

As mentioned above he is essentially a left footed Dack. He's a number 10 more than a wide player.

Agree with McTeeth.

I was at the Oxford game that night as well. He was a constant pain in our arse and never gave up. Will be great to see him play as well for Rovers.

Oxford fans seem divided - half seem to think that was the last time he played well for them.

Uwe Rosler confirmed Rovers have put a bid in for Bell. But if you want something extremely unlikely Rovers are going to be signing Kerala Blasters and Indian national team captain Sandesh Jhingan. No prizes for guessing why Rovers are being linked with him.

The forum I just looked at generally seemed pretty gutted he was going and that on his day he was amazing.

Few recent anonymous performances but a lot of that seemed to be him having a free role in a 4-4-2 and losing the ball a bit trying to do too much.

I'd like to the his qualities are definitely there and he can do well in the right system and with even better players around him. Which no offence to Oxford we will have.

Dack to Norwich as an Alex Pritchard replacement according to a badly written sheet of toilet paper.

Apparently Everton have made a £1m bid for Callum Wright.

Take it. If he is really that good loan him back to us and have sell on clause.

If he’s really ‘one of the most sought after young talents in the country’ then they can stick their 1 million quid up BFS’s arse.

If they are really dumping that much money for a kid, I think it would be wise to sell him with as many add-ons as possible. No need to hold onto someone that hasn't proved anything yet other than at the U-18 level. Plus, he just came from the Everton academy, and the are knocking on the door for him again.

Chuck a load of clauses in. Sell-on clause, second sell-on clause, first choice on loans for next 5 years.....
