Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Shame we didn't secure Brereton, he's generally been regarded as an exciting young prospect although not sure how much of that was over hyped from his performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
Still get the feeling we might bring back Gallagher on loan which would be good.

Oh, I agree, it is simplistic. That's why I said at the start "on a simplistic level" and suggested a mean was a bare minimum. I'm no statistician though.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Not really. You called it "very odd" that a fan of another club would take exception to what they considered a low bid for one of their players. I pointed out we're guilty of doing similar, it's just typical bias towards their own club. But instead of acknowledging that, you started trying to justify that your perspective was the only one that mattered with some bizarre logic that has no bearing on how a QPR fan would value their own player. I kept the discussion going in the hope the penny would drop, but it seems you think it's just "pointless nitpicking" to look from an angle that isn't your own.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
I didn't say that a fan taking exception to what we've bid is very odd, calling our bid laughable is what I said was very odd, given that laughable is defined as "so ludicrous as to be amusing". My initial point was only on the basis of semantics.
They have used hyperbolic language in the headline of their piece quite clearly as clickbait, but in the context of their own article going on to explain that 3 other clubs have made lower bids in the previous month makes the use of laughable incongruous which struck me as being very odd.
Of course they're entitled to have an opinion and use hyperbole to get people clicking on something they've written, but objectively our bid clearly wasn't laughable which is all I was pointing out.
If a club bid £4m for Dack we can all sit here and take exception to it being too low in our opinion, but the fact is that it would be a reasonable offer to make all things considered.

The leaf is probably more concerning.

Rovers rumoured to be interested in Palace forward Connor Wickham on loan.

Wouldn't mind Wickham down here. Think he would be a solid impact sub. I would think if he has the option, he would get more playing time here than in Stoke.
At this point, it would seem Mowbray would look to sign 3 or 4 loan signings.

Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Given that Southampton managed to get Danny Ings on loan it seems likely that Gallagher will go out on loan somewhere, I'd much rather us prioritise trying to bring him back here than Wickham who whilst a decent striker is coming back from a year and a half out injured.
Karanka has commented on Brereton in the LT and seems to not be ruling out the possibility of a loan, given our interest in the player that may also be something we pursue.

I see Brereton didn’t play yesterday. Definitely going out on Loan.
Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
LT confirm that Brereton is one of the three loan deals we're working on.

Probably the only hang up I see in that deal is the view to buy at a set price. Wonder who the other two loanees might be.
Re: Rumours, wishlists and general tomfoolery
Central defender and a winger that isn’t Chapman would be my guess.

Bid for Brereton is upwards of 8 million now.
