That was when he was still a young pup! Now, he's clearly not worth 6 million, but wants to leave the failure that is the Chinese money pit and recut his teeth in English football.
I didn't know Liege was in China.
It was 7 years ago...
How did they move it out of China? That's a lot of soil to shift.
They didn't, they just let a bull run loose.

Looks like Rovers are being strongly linked with Hibernian midfielder Dylan McGeouch.

Lazy journalists linking rovers with Rhodes. Must be worth around 6m now. Miles out of our price range so maybe try a cheeky loan. Sheffield wed did to Boro before signing perm. Had a couple of real stinking seasons now. Surely can’t still be in the 10m bracket. Since leaving us he roughly scores 1 in 5 games. Sure we could get the best out of him again. Team around him is so much better now compared to his last season and better manager.

Anyone think we will be able to spend over 1m on a single transfer this season? Still have no idea where to pitch our finances. £750,000 on Dack in league 1. Promotion and more money coming in but will we break a single transfer of 1m on a single player???? Hope we smash it with free transfers and loans. See Marcus Maddison has been transfer listed so hopefully the release clause of 2m has gone and a lower offer could get him.

Has to be a slam dunk transfer much like Dack to pay that much for a player. Something that will be a significant upgrade to what we have now. Maybe a player like Wil Trapp from Columbus (defensive midfielder) who is young, versatile, and has the right attributes to be successful in the Championship. Or a true winger to give Rovers width, like Marcus Maddison who you mentioned, which led the league in assists with 16.

Marcus Maddison 2 years in a row top of assist table. He would be perfect as LM is a position we need to strengthen.

Rhodes can stay where he is. As you said, lazy journalism, and he's been absolute cack since he left. We need players that can hit the ground running, we don't want to go blowing money on hoping someone can regain the form they had a few years ago.

I can think of a number of strikers we've signed whose careers were in the doldrums yet suddenly found form as soon as they got here: Bellamy, McCarthy, Santa Cruz, Yakubu, Gestede, Graham. Both Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday spent a lot on Rhodes just to use him as a bit part squad player. It's not really a surprise that they're not getting the same output from him when they're not making him the focal point of their attack or even picking him half the time. It's hard to keep up a 20+ goal a season strike rate from the subs bench. We know just how good he was as a first team regular, I'd happily welcome him back.

I'd love him to come back - if he can fit into our budget.

Oh come on. We'd obviously be better getting someone in on loan.

That's where Blackbat got the idea from obviously.

Not a bad base to build a squad on, with a handful of quality additions we should have a competitive side.
