Looks a decent player, but doesn’t he play Dack’s role?

I’m not sure Chelsea would go for that though.

Dunno, looks like he was mainly a sub out on loan last year... ultimately it's not Chelsea's decision who makes our first team, they can send him out hoping he can make a first team spot and recall him if it's not working out.

I assume it's going to be like what we did with Payne last season, bring him on as a sub in the second half and let him run at defenders. We kind of need that in our squad.

Sky Sports running an article that it's a season long loan and due to be announced in the coming days. Probably represents and upgrade on Payne as another attacking midfielder.

If we can just bring in another decent striker it will feel like a very good summer in terms of transfer business and we'll look in good shape to tackle the Championship.

Wasn’t it Liverpool who inserted all sorts of appearance clauses in at least one of their loanee’s contracts last season? I thought I read sonewhere that they ended up getting a penalty payout when the other club didn’t play the player enough. It sounds a stupid thing to agree to, but the big clubs hold a lot of power over the contractual terms of the loans of their in demand star youth players.

It's also worth remembering that the players are investments for their parent clubs... Even where they don't fit within the short/med term plans the club will be looking after ROI.

It's a crying shame that a few small clubs hoard the majority of the young talent, but such is football

Chelsea have that many players they dont know what to do with them. Former Rovers loanee Todd Kane has been a Chelsea player since 2011. He has never played for Chelsea's first team. He is currently 24 years of age and is looking forward to playing for Hull City this coming season...his eighth club. Chelsea as well as being a PL club are a leasing company too. If Rovers do borrow Kasey Palmer all should be fine as long as we send him back with no dents and not too many miles on the clock.

Tony Mowbray today spoke of Adam Armstrong and Harry Chapman. While maintaining his interest in both of them he admitted they were not top of his list. Sounds like he has other players in mind who he feels have more experience of championship football. You could put Bradley Dack in the same catagory as Armstrong and Chapman. All have success at league One level. Armstrong would have probably been top scorer last season had he spent the whole season at Rovers. Chapman was a firm favourite with Rovers fans until the injury cut short his season. If Mowbray has doubts about their championship level capabilities then why did he not show the same concerns about his two signings so far. Rothwell who Mowbray has signed has no championship experience and his other signing Davenport has experience of being relegated from the championship. Ellis Harrison who Mowbray was said to be interested in before signing for Ipswich again a league one player. In Mowbray we must trust of course but i find his comments on Armstrong and Chapman odd when you consider his signings so far.

Could just be posturing in efforts to get their price down. Doesn't help a negotiating position to come out and say these two are our top targets.

This is exactly how I read his comments. He probably has a few of the players messaging Chapman and Armstrong and giving them a heads up. Ploy to get the fee’s down. I hope to god he is telling the truth. That way we might be buying a striker and winger with experience at this level whilst also taking Chapman and Armstrong on reduced fee And loan etc.

Well it appears were buying Armstrong at full price. Let's hope his success last year was more due to environment than dropping down a league.

I wonder if he will be available in time for this weekend. Another good signing and won't need much time to catch up with the rest of the squad.
