Well we've lacked someone like that for a while. I'f he's got a reasonable amount of talent, and gives 100% every match, then he could be just what we need. Put someone a bit calmer with a bit of quality in next to him, and you've got the makings of a decent midfield pairing.

He tried hard and attacked his full back at every opportunity today against Wrexham, but I'd like to see him on the right and not on the left because he clearly isn't comfortable using his left foot unless he absolutely has to, and it kept slowing attacks down.

Crucial piece in consolidating transfer losses.

Potential to stave off most relegation woes in keeping Chris.

He should have been retained anyway and it was surprising that we were prepared to let him go. Maybe we have a bit money to play with now Cairney's wages and Dunny's pie allowance are off the books.

What makes you think we were prepared to let him go? We offered him a contract.

Since when has reality mattered around here?

Picture or it didn't happen.

Also, just visiting that concept of reality again, the club didn't actually offer him a contract until after we announced the retained list but did say that discussions were ongoing.

I think the reality everyone ignores is that the player has a say in his own future.

Chris Taylor and Luke Varney, who are both aged over 24, are free to talk to other clubs at the expiration of their contracts.

Kind of sounds like not being retained to me
