Anyone for the "massive club" bet again? I'll go for 2nd paragraph.

Strangely we appear to be compiling a midfield that could be better than we had last season :o

mcteeth, any idea where this puts Conway, Bennett, & Feeney? Methinks the 30-somethings are in a dogfight for playing time, maybe for their jobs.

No more than they were before - look how many midfielders and no.10s we just got rid of. And 50% of the lads who arrive will be rubbish for us.

That is generally true.

Additions are good, if nothing else, the added competition.

Opinions that I've seen of the new acquisitions from fans of their previous clubs:

Whittingham: revered
Smallwood: solid
Dack: very decent
Gladwin: underwhelmed (this was QPR though, and we all know what that lot are like)

Feeney did have some decent games last season but he has some stinkers too, I'd expect him to have more of an impact at this level. Personally I thought we lose someone like Bennett, who I rate and was good last season, and Conway is very solid. If we've still got them after the summer then they should be playing.
