It seems that Celtic may yet get a reprieve. UEFA are investigating whether Legia brought on a player who should have been suspended, he came on for the last two minutes of their 2-0 win when Legia were 6-1 on aggregate. Oh dear Henning. :dunce:

So it looks like Celtic have been let off having been awarded the tie 3-0, putting them through on away goals. Seems very harsh on Legia given that the guy was only on for the last two minutes of a dead game and the only reason that he was still banned was because he wasn't included in the squad for one of the three games that he missed (because why include a suspended player in the squad?), it's not like he hadn't missed the allotted number of games. Plus Debrecen were only fined £15,000 in nearly identical circumstances so I'm guessing there will be some sort of appeal from Legia.

Yep, logic and precedent would suggest penalising legia for the error by awarding the tie to Celtic, but only at 1-0 so that Legia go through.

Ridiculous.

Defender scores first penalty then goes in goal to save two to help his side win shootout after goalie is sent off.

I watched this last night via YouTube. It is an amazing story but his save shouldn't of counted. He was well off his line as he was for all the penalties. Shoddy Refereeing

I don't really have that much interest in the Champions League but did watch the highlights on ITV mainly to see how Barcelona did it and Arsenal enjoy Arsenal's battering.

I was actually really quite saddened by the complete lack of integrity in their late comeback and victory, which ultimately will be overlooked in the mainstream media because ultimately UEFA got the team they want through.
